Several people have been injured after a shooting at a central Florida mall, and the suspect is still on the run.
Ocala police said they responded to “an active shooting” Saturday afternoon at the Paddock Mall in Ocala, about 80 miles northwest of Orlando.
The police department later said on social media that the suspect had fled and the mall was being evacuated.
'Several people are injured. The suspect probably fled. The mall is currently being evacuated,” authorities said.

There is a large police presence and people are urged to avoid the area.
Calvin and Diana Amos, who were shopping at the JC Penney store, told the story the Ocala Star banner that they quickly evacuated the store as soon as they realized what was happening. They describe themselves as scared and worried.
