Josh Jacobs and Amik Robertson helped the Las Vegas Raiders end their 36-year skid against the Green Bay Packers Monday night in a 17-13 victory at Allegiant Stadium.
The Raiders had suffered eight straight losses to Green Bay before their last meeting, a miserable losing streak that dated back to 1987.
But thanks to Jacobs’ fourth-quarter touchdown run in Las Vegas, along with a stunning late interception from Robertson, Josh McDaniels’ team broke that unwanted record and recorded its first victory since opening weekend.
Linebacker Robert Spillane also added two interceptions, while quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo completed 22 of 31 passes for 208 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
The Raiders took a 10-3 lead into halftime on a nine-yard touchdown pass. from Garoppolo to Jakobi Meyers. Las Vegas had a chance to take an even bigger lead after linebacker Spillane’s second-quarter interception gave the Raiders possession at the Green Bay 7, but settled for a short field goal.

This kind of start was nothing new for the Packers, who have scored six first-half points in their last three games. They overcame a 17-0 halftime deficit two weeks ago to beat the New Orleans Saints, and last week they outscored the Detroit Lions 17-7 in the second half, but even lost by two touchdowns.
And, right on cue, the Packers opened the second half with Rudy Ford’s interception of Garoppolo. This led to AJ Dillon’s five-yard touchdown run run to tie the match.
Later in the third quarter, Green Bay failed to take advantage of a short field. Love found Christian Watson without a defender about 10 yards away. The 77-yard completion – and a horse collar tackle penalty – moved the Packers into 3rd place. But Green Bay had to settle for a field goal to take a 13-10 lead.
The lead didn’t last long, however, as Jacobs’ two-yard touchdown run to open the fourth quarter put Las Vegas back in front.
And with 44 seconds on the clock, Robertson intercepted a Love pass in the end zone to seal a much-needed victory for the Raiders.
Las Vegas had not won against the Packers since September 13, 1987, when they won 20-0 in Green Bay.

McDaniels was full of praise for Jacobs, insisting he had an exceptional performance on Monday.
The win will also take a lot of the pressure off McDaniels’ shoulders, who had come under fire amid a three-game losing streak.
After the match, McDaniels was full of praise for Jacobs following an outstanding performance from the 25-year-old.
“JJ is ready every day,” he said. “He has a great attitude and mindset.
