Matthew Perry’s former home in the Pacific Palisades — where he tragically died in 2023 — is under immediate threat from the devastating wildfires ravaging Los Angeles’ beloved enclave.
Less than three months ago, the four-bedroom, five-bathroom home sold for a whopping $8.55 million to its current owner, real estate developer Anita Verma-Lallian.
According to Realtor.comthe building was surrounded by fire on Wednesday, with neighbors on Blue Sail Drive sharing gruesome images of the fast-approaching fire on social media.
The Palisades Fire — one of three unprecedented wildfires terrorizing Southern California — has scorched more than 15,000 acres of land and destroyed about 1,000 structures. Tens of thousands of LA residents are currently under evacuation orders.
Although it is unknown if Perry’s former home burned down, Cal Fire’s live map shows that the neighborhood is within the ‘incident perimeter’.
Verma-Lallian confirmed via Instagram Story that she and her family are ‘safe’, but did not provide any information about the condition of the property.

‘Thank you to everyone who contributed. Our family is safe and we are waiting for updates. I pray for everyone affected by the wildfires,” the film producer wrote.
She also reposted horrific BBC News footage of homes in the Pacific Palisades going up in flames as extreme winds swept through the devastated area.
Verma-Lallian – based in Scottsdale, Arizona – purchased Perry’s 3,500-square-foot mansion off-market in October 2024.
She told me earlier The Los Angeles Times that she planned to use the Pacific Palisades estate as a “vacation home.”
The sale of Home came almost exactly a year after the Friends star was found dead in the home’s hot tub on October 28, 2023 at the age of 54.
Perry originally purchased the home, located on a hill overlooking the ocean, in 2020 for $6 million. Before his death, Perry completely renovated the property, trading light oak floors for darker wood and boho furniture for much brighter colors.
He regularly shared photos of his home, pool and garden, showing he was a big fan of Batman as artwork of the hooded crusader was prominently displayed in his home.
In fact, his very last Instagram post was a shot of him enjoying the hot tub he died in, as the lights of the city twinkled behind him.
His death was ruled an accident due to the acute effects of ketamine. Buprenorphine, which is often used to treat opioid addiction, was also found in his system.

Contributing factors to his death were drowning and coronary artery disease.
Although it is not known whether Perry’s former home was destroyed, many members of the Hollywood elite could not escape the wrath of the Los Angeles wildfires.
The upscale neighborhood of Pacific Palisades has been reduced to ash and rubble, with several celebrities among those who have lost their homes.
Actors Adam Brody and Leighton Meester’s $7 million mansion is one of 1,000 structures destroyed as a result of the wildfires.
The couple bought the five-bedroom home in 2019, but photos show the property is now up in flames.
Likewise, actress Anna Faris’ $5 million eco-friendly residence was completely decimated by the fire.

Former talk show host Ricki Lake shared an emotional post in which she mourned the “immeasurable” loss of her “dream home.”

Lake, 56, bought the property in 2014. She and husband Ross Sussman got married there in their backyard just three years ago.
‘I can’t believe I’m typing these words […] Ross and I lost our dream home,” Lake wrote on Instagram.
Oscar-nominated actor James Woods shared footage of a house two blocks away from his property completely engulfed in flames.
Reality stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag confirmed their home was also lost.
Pratt, 41, was captured in photos watching the rapidly advancing fire move toward his home.
Fortunately, the couple and their two sons were able to evacuate safely earlier in the day before the flames got too close.
Meanwhile, Mandy Moore, Ben Affleck and Mark Hamill are among the 30,000 residents currently under evacuation orders as the fires continue to rage through Los Angeles.
