PA poll shows residents want Trump or DeSantis MORE than their native Biden

Scranton joe? Hell no: A Pennsylvania poll shows residents want Trump or DeSantis MORE than their native president as he continues to delay his 2024 announcement

  • A higher percentage of PA voters want to see former President Donald Trump or Florida Governor Ron DeSantis run for the White House than President Joe Biden
  • Biden was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania
  • 34 percent chose Trump and 26 percent said DeSantis, while 24 percent of likely Pennsylvania voters said they wanted to see Biden on the 2024 ballot

A higher percentage of Pennsylvania residents said they wanted to see former President Donald Trump or Florida Governor Ron DeSantis run for the White House than their home state, President Joe Biden.

A new poll on behalf of the conservative Commonwealth Foundation found that 34 percent of Pennsylvanians wanted Trump on the 2024 ballot and another 26 percent would like to see DeSantis. Respondents were allowed to select multiple candidates.

Trump announced a presidential bid in mid-November and is leading the GOP polls, while DeSantis has visited the early primary states as part of a book tour but hasn’t officially thrown his hat in the ring.

Biden came in third with 24 percent.

In the same survey, 40 percent of Keystone State voters approved of the work Biden was doing — while 58 percent said they disapproved.

Biden’s approval was lower than that of the state’s two Democratic senators.

Senator John Fetterman, who recently checked out of Walter Reed after being hospitalized for severe depression, received a positive response of 46 percent.

Senator Bob Casey, who is up for re-election next year, received a thumbs-up from 48 percent of respondents.

Interestingly, following Biden in fourth place in presidential preference, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, a Democrat who defeated his opponent, far-right Senator Doug Mastriano, by nearly 15 points in November’s midterm elections.

Twenty percent of PA voters said they would like to see Shapiro run for the White House.

The Commonwealth Foundation’s investigation was conducted between March 24 and 29 — meaning it concluded a day before Trump was indicted in the Stormy Daniels hush-money probe.

Six hundred registered voters in Pennsylvania were surveyed.

So far, Trump appears to have suffered no political damage after becoming the first ex-president to face criminal charges.

A Rasmussen poll released Wednesday showed Trump a full seven points ahead of Biden in a general election contest — and most of the research was conducted after last Thursday’s indictment.

Rasmussen found that 47 percent of likely American voters favored Trump and 40 percent favored Biden.

Biden has not yet announced a run for a second term.

a recent Axios report said the president might not announce a 2024 bid until July, but could even wait until the fall.

He was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania before moving to Wilmington, Delaware as a child.
