OysterGate culprit Ruby Tuesday Matthews complains about plane taking too long to take off after influencer famously held up flight during seafood dinner

Ruby Tuesday Matthews has raised eyebrows for complaining that a plane was taking too long to take off – four years after she famously stopped a Jetstar flight to enjoy oysters at a fancy restaurant.

The 29-year-old Byron Bay influencer took to Instagram this weekend to detail her fears during her trip to Bali with her three children, Rocket, five, Mars, four, and Holiday, one.

In her Stories, Ruby shared a close-up photo of her son on the plane looking less than happy after their flight was delayed twice.

‘Two failed attempts to take off due to warning lights coming on just before take-off. I’ve been stuck on this plane for way too long,” she lamented in her caption.

Ruby later returned to Instagram hours later after finally arriving at her hotel, sharing a photo of herself lying in bed looking sullen as Holiday slept on her chest.

‘Traveling with two children is a walk in the park. Three is WILD. No words. But we reached the hotel at 4:30 am Aus time. The boys think it’s morning. I’m ruined,” she complained.

The next day, Ruby posted another update to her page, with a close-up photo of herself lounging by the hotel’s pool.

‘To all the influencers who make traveling with kids look easy – What the real f*ck. Maybe it’s my two spicy margaritas talking but that was complete BS,” she ranted in the caption.

Ruby later returned to Instagram hours later after finally arriving at her hotel, sharing a photo of herself lying in bed looking glum as Holiday slept on her chest.

“Random baby vomiting on the plane, no help, hours on the tarmac, failed takeoffs and landing in Bali to arrive at the hotel at 4am with no sleep today,” she continued.

The bathrobe entrepreneur likened her experience to a “bender” that she “couldn’t escape.”

However, she ended her post on a more positive note, writing, “On the bright side, the pool is great and the margaritas are strong.”

Ruby’s horrific travel experience comes four years after she made headlines for holding up a Jetstar flight so she could eat oysters, only to complain when she was harassed by frustrated passengers.

She was due to fly from Byron Bay to Sydney in the afternoon, but a technical problem caused the flight to be delayed.

Jetstar asked travelers to remain at the airport while they flew an engineer from the Gold Coast and told passengers the new departure time was likely to be around 7.30pm that evening.

In October 2020, Ruby came under fire after holding up a delayed Jetstar flight while tucking into oysters at a fancy restaurant

Ruby and her traveling companion decided to leave the airport to grab a bite to eat at a beachside restaurant while others ate at the airport.

The influencer later posted a video on Instagram of herself eating oysters with a friend, captioning the footage: “Flight delayed f*** my life.”

She left frustrated passengers waiting on the tarmac, who harassed her as she boarded, 30 minutes after the plane was scheduled to take off.

Video footage shows passengers shouting “how were the oysters” and “what a beautiful day” as they boarded the plane.

As the pair enjoyed their meal, people at the airport were told that the engineer had arrived earlier than expected and that the flight would board at 6:20 p.m.

But passengers were forced to sit on the tarmac as Jetstar tried to track down a group of missing passengers, including Ruby and her pal.

It is understood that an employee had to call her to let her know the plane was ready to leave and that she should return to the airport as soon as possible.

When a passenger asked if the oysters were tasty, Ruby replied, “Yes, they were.”

The social media star then argued with the other travelers, telling them it was an “innocent mistake” and that they were being rude.

The influencer later took to social media where she blamed Jetstar for the incident and claimed the staff did nothing to help her.
