Overwatch 2’s Transformers Crossover Gives Us Optimus Prime Hardt and Mega Ramattra

Autobots and Decepticons are coming Overwatch2thanks to a new Transformers crossover coming July 9. Blizzard Entertainment previewed the collaboration back in June, along with the launch of Season 11 of Overwatch2and a new trailer for the crossover released on Monday confirms who will be who.

Bastion, the Overwatch hero who can most reasonably be described as a Triple changerwill take on the role of Bumblebee. Illari gets an Arcee skin, and tanks Reinhardt and Ramattra get to dress up as Optimus Prime and Megatron, respectively. Based on the teaser animation from Blizzard and Hasbro and a recently released lore comicthat seems to be the extent of the collaboration.

Four skins is pretty much on par with previous Overwatch crossovers, which brought Cowboy Bebop, One Punch Man, K-pop group Le Sserafim, and brands Porsche and Lego to Blizzard’s team-based hero shooter. Blizzard hasn’t revealed how many Overwatch2The Transformers skins will cost money, or players will get them for free during gameplay.

As with others Overwatch2 collaborations, Blizzard has explained that Overwatch’s heroes will simply dress up as characters from external locations; players won’t literally play as Arcee, Bumblebee, Megatron, and Optimus Prime.

Overwatch2 is free to play on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
