Outrageous moment trans women take over US Capitol’s restroom in protest

Transgender activists staged an outrageous takeover of the women’s restrooms in the United States Capitol to protest Congress’s trans bathroom ban.

Protesters have flocked to Washington, DC, as the Supreme Court hears a case over the constitutionality of a Tennessee law that denies gender-affirming care to transgender minors.

Republicans have been encouraged by Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential election, and South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace has introduced a bill to ban transgender women from using women’s restrooms on Capitol Hill.

Last month, House Speaker Mike Johnson ruled that the first transgender member of Congress would not be allowed to use women’s restrooms, a decision that will shake the U.S. Capitol.

Newly elected Sarah McBride, who will become the first openly transgender lawmaker when she is sworn in in January, will have to use the men’s facilities.

As the Supreme Court heard the most high-profile case of its term on Wednesday, transgender activists decided to record a dance number that took over the women’s restroom at the Capitol.

The group of protesters – including trans actress James Rose – danced to Klymaxx’s Meeting in the Ladies Room.

The video of the demonstration begins with a panorama of the interior of the Capitol entrance and then cuts to the nearby restroom filled with a dancing group of trans, non-binary and cis-gender people.

Some wore shirts with the colors of the transgender pride flag – pink, blue and white – that read “Flush The Hate, Not Our Rights” and “Trans People are NOT Dangerous.” You are!’

The other activists include non-binary influencer Jerome Trammel, comedian Elizabeth Booker Houston, influencer Alexis Rose, transgender model June Raven Romero and activist Hope Giselle-Godsey.

“We understand how tough it is to be an outcast in our society, so doing what’s necessary is never too hard. It always starts with things that people think are unimportant, like public toilets, but it never stops there,” Giselle-Godsey shared. Gaye Magazine.

“We are here today to make sure they understand that we will not be wiped out – one bathroom at a time – or shoved back into the proverbial closet out of respect for the comfort of those who speak to eradicate us.”

Supporters of the suspect left comments applauding the video and cheering on the group’s antics.

“Now I’ll be disappointed every time I go to a public restroom and don’t see any dancing,” one person said.

“I take over the bathroom every day after meeting a man alone on the street,” said a second.

Another added: “No MAGAs were damaged while using the potty or filming this video.”

Mace’s bathroom proposal sparked a trans war on Capitol Hill, with Delaware Democratic Rep.-elect McBride blasting Republicans, claiming they were using it as a “diversion” tactic.

Mace responded brazenly when asked why she doesn’t want the first transgender member of Congress to use women’s restrooms.

“If being a feminist makes me an extremist, I’m all for it,” the South Carolina Republican sharply told a reporter.

‘I am a victim of abuse myself. I am a rape survivor. I have PTSD from the abuse I suffered at the hands of a man, and I know how vulnerable women and girls are in private spaces.

“So I’m absolutely 100 percent going to stand in the way of any man who wants to be in a ladies’ room, in our locker rooms, [or] in our changing rooms.’

Johnson, the Republican leader, ultimately weighed in on the controversy in a statement saying McBride should use the restroom of her biological sex.

“All sex facilities in the Capitol and House of Representatives office buildings – such as restrooms, locker rooms and locker rooms – are reserved for persons of that biological sex,” Johnson said in his statement.

“It is important to note that each member office has its own private restroom, and unisex restrooms are available throughout the Capitol,” he continued. ‘Women deserve only women’s spaces.’
