He also suggested that the school retaliated against his sons with unwarranted disciplinary action when he withdrew his charitable giving.

The Browning School has not yet commented on his claims.

Browning has become a morass of dysfunction, misconduct and dishonesty.

“Those are serious words and I use them carefully – as a parent and confidant.”

He claims that in the fall of 2022, after pledging $1 million to the school, he attempted to give the remaining $651,400 after already donating $348,000 last year.

School principals told him he actually owed $710,000, according to the father, who has not been publicly named but whose email appeared on NYC Private School Watch — an Instagram page that chronicles the escalating problems in the most expensive and elite institutions. of Manhattan describes.

When he raised the matter with the school’s principal, John Botti, the father said Botti assured him he would respond “immediately,” but heard nothing after that.

He says he decided on the spot to withdraw his financial support out of concern about the school’s “poor bookkeeping.”

In the months that followed, he claimed the school had taken unwarranted disciplinary action against his sons, who had never been in trouble before.

When the family tried to investigate the matters, he claimed that Botti refused to meet with them and instead insisted on communicating through lawyers.

“We understand that this year we are among a number of Browning families, across multiple ranks, who have had to hire lawyers.

“This is due in part to a disastrous inability to hire, retain or mentor competent principals from at least the high and high schools,” he said.

It is the latest issue in a series of episodes for Browning.

The famous boys’ school was founded in 1888 to educate brothers Percy and John D. Rockefeller.

Now it faces criticism for changing its policy to allow children “who identify as boys” to apply.

“As a school that proudly celebrates and affirms boys at every stage of their lives, we recognize that the many ways in which gender can be lived and expressed are now vastly different from when we were founded in 1888,” read a recent letter to parents.
