Outraged Five Guys customer slams chain for charging her FORTY TWO dollars for two burgers, two shakes and one portion of fries
A Five Guys customer's video complaining about the extremely high prices of items at the fast food chain has resurfaced on multiple social media platforms.
Michelle Newell posted the clip to TikTok, explaining that she and her husband paid $42 for two cheeseburgers, a side of fries and two milkshakes.
The visibly upset patron told viewers that the couple had visited a Five Guys location for lunch on Saturday afternoon.
Newell said she ordered a regular cheeseburger for herself, another mushroom cheeseburger for her husband and a side of fries. The couple also received two milkshakes.
She said that “we are absolutely ready” and that companies are “playing with their customers.”

“So two cheeseburgers, one order of fries and two shakes. And the bill came to $42.
'You know what? I'm all for eating really well, and paying good money for really good food.

'Let me tell you something. These companies are going to get to work and you're going to find out what it means to piss off your customers so much that they're going to say, “You know what? We're done. We're absolutely done.” finished. We're going to start cooking at home. We are going to start every day with brown bag lunches.”

Iain Ross-Mackenzie, director of operations-APAC at Five Guys International, previously explained why the food in the shops was at that price.
'People come to Five Guys for a simple, good American burger. And that's what they're going to get here,” he said.
'Five Guys is your regular burger joint, where you know the people and the food and we know you and your preferences. Nothing in the store is frozen. We always use only fresh ingredients.'
Earlier this year, it was revealed that Five Guys servers were pouring an extra portion of fries into the paper bags containing a meal.
LOADable reported that the extra fries are given out so that customers feel like they got more food for the money they spent.
However, the 'topper' fries are included in the cost of a Five Guys meal, which is more expensive than other chains such as McDonald's and Burger King.
Speak with Food RepublicChad Murrell, one of the sons of Five Guys founder Jerry Murrell, said, “I won't name names, but other restaurants just don't give a satisfying amount of fries.
'We always go the extra mile. I say charge them up and make sure they get their money's worth.'

Five Guys isn't the only fast food chain with prices that appeal to customers.
Last month, a McDonald's customer became enraged after being charged $16 for a burger, fries and soft drink, while others claim the fast-food chain is no longer affordable for everyday Americans.
Christopher Olivean influencer with over 400,000 followers, took to TikTok to express his frustration after being charged $16 for a “happy meal.”
“So I understand there's a labor shortage, wage increases and a number of other factors,” Olive from Idaho says in the video. “Only $16? $16 for a burger, a big boy and a drink? It's just crazy!'
The video, originally posted in December last year, has gone viral again after McDonald's reported a 14 percent increase in sales to $6.69 billion on Monday.
