Outrage over ‘see-through’ women’s toilets at hip new city bar after outsiders caught design flaw
- Women have been seen through glass using the toilets in a bar
- The images showed them in the restaurant of the headquarters in Auckland.
- One of the women was seen naked, possibly wearing overalls.
A new popular bar was called after patrons could see women using the female toilet cubicles through clear glass windows.
The vision of three women using the toilets on the first floor of the headquarters bar in central Auckland was taken and posted on social media on Sunday.
The restroom users were seen in the footage from the waist up standing in the cubicle and one of them appeared to be nude while donning overalls.

She was seen standing after using the bathroom and getting dressed, while two other women could be seen adjusting their clothes.
The ‘bathroom with a view’ view was taken from outside the venue with crowds milling around, prompting some on social media to ask: ‘How did they manage to do that?’
The place formally known as O’Hagans Irish Pub was recently renovated by owner Leo Molloy, a former Auckland mayoral candidate.
His new look was promised to ‘revolutionize’ the city’s waterfront scene.
Molloy, who opened the new bar last Friday, told the New Zealand Herald the problem was being fixed.
“We were going to have panama blinds so people could choose to have a view or not, but we’re going to fix them today,” he said.
“It was considered a good idea at the time to have a bathroom with a view, but based on the negative feedback, we’re going to freeze them.”

Malloy also told them that he had recently replaced the glass panels.
Windows had frosted before it was fixed and rebranded.
Meanwhile, the images sparked outrage and laughter from hundreds of online commenters.
We went to O’Hagan’s new headquarters. And the female toilet is transparent from the outside. Just be careful ladies,” the social media post read.
‘Oh! Reminder not to wear a jumpsuit there then,’ one joked after seeing the woman appear to put the jumpsuit back on.
I figured this out on Friday night! It’s ridiculous,’ said another, while one more wrote that he was ‘disgusted’.
A spokesman for the New Zealand Privacy Commissioner’s Office said it was investigating the incident.
This is disgusting. They need to freeze those windows ASAP!
“That’s really alarming and a violation of privacy for those who don’t realize it, besides imagining themselves wearing a jumpsuit,” wrote another.
malloy said things.co.nz would put a film over the windows Tuesday admitting it was a ‘minor’ design flaw.
‘I went down… after reading the complaint, and you can’t see anything. You can see the shoulders and the head, but not when they are using the bathroom,” she said.
The toilet faces the opposite direction. The person would have to straddle the toilet and face the opposite direction to be seen.
A spokesman for the New Zealand Privacy Commissioner’s Office said it was investigating the incident.
“If anyone who was at Headquarters wants to provide us with information on this matter, they can contact our office,” the spokesperson said.
“If your privacy has been harmed, you may want to file a formal complaint.”
