Outrage is growing as Kohl’s stores offer LGBTQ clothing for babies

Retailer Kohl’s appears to be the latest brand to begin catering to the “woke crowd” for promoting and selling LGBTQ+ babywear at the struggling company.

Social media outrage over the store’s decision has grown, with some calling for boycotts, similar to other brands that have recently promoted “wake up” ideals.

One Twitter account put it succinctly: “Looks like another company needs Bud lighting!”

Kohl’s has already seen its shares lose nearly half of their value by 2022 and it was nearly bought out by JCPenney. Now they appear to be following Bud Light and Target and could soon face massive backlash over the campaign.

Conservatives have recently taken notice of the chain offering in-store and online infant rompers with the LGBTQ+ pride flag on them, specifically tailored for June, which is internationally known as Pride Month.

Leading the charge against the product, the popular “End Wokeness” Twitter account wrote, “Kohl’s pushes LGBTQ Pride for literal babies” and added, “It seems Kohl’s has learned nothing from Bud Lite and Target.”

A YouTuber going by “Twisted Luck Truth.” posted a video that was also shared on TikTok criticizing Kohl’s LGBTQ merchandise in the store and claiming that the social media site had removed it.

The account showed several pieces of pride merchandise in an unknown location belonging to Kohl, including a t-shirt that read “BELONG BELIEVE BE PROUD” with a Mickey Mouse logo in silhouette.

Conservative influencer Benny Johnson wondered “why is Kohl’s selling ‘Pride Merch’ for three-month-old babies?”

“Wouldn’t it be nice if Target and Kohl’s also offered toddlers’ clothing with images of the American flag? Patriots? Eagles?’ asked another account.

Another liberal content creator defended Kohl’s against other companies in the wake of the boycotts, saying the company should stand its ground.

“Kohl’s, please stand your ground and keep your pride collection. I’m sick of gun hungry bigots pretending not to be straight killing their kids when we all know what happens EVERY F***ING DAY IN THIS COUNTRY.”

Kohl’s move comes as many try to boycott several major brands over expressions of solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community, which many see as a progression of “awakened” ideology.

Anheuser-Busch has seen its market capitalization drop $15.7 billion since its disastrous transgender Mulvaney campaign began April 1.

Target has pulled some of the most controversial items from its Pride collection in the face of a “Bud Light” boycott, but is doubling down on its commitment to LGBTQ causes, blaming “fleeting” complaints for its decision.

Target said it pulled some of the items that were “at the center of the most confrontational behavior.”

“Since the introduction of this year’s collection, we have faced threats that affect our team members’ sense of safety and well-being at work,” Target said in a statement.

“Given these volatile conditions, we are adjusting our plans, including removing items that were central to the most significant confrontation behavior,” said crisis communications manager Kayla Castaneda.

The company did not specify which items were pulled from its shelves. Many of the bathing suits, rompers and t-shirts that sparked outrage remain available online.

Target has lost $10 billion in market cap in just 10 days and has seen its stock price plummet to multi-year lows in the wake of its Pride offerings.

Target HQ staffers reportedly held an “emergency meeting” last week to prevent what a Target insider told Fox Brass had popularly referred to as a “Bud Light situation.”

An insider revealed that the company made the emergency decision at the last minute, in direct response to threats staff had received in recent weeks about the new displays.

Kohl’s push to offer LGBTQ clothing comes after the struggling department store chain posted a surprise profit earlier this week amid a widespread downturn in the retail market.

Big names like Walmart, Sears and Walgreens are closing in droves across the country, while 50-year-old discount home chain Bed Bath & Beyond filed for bankruptcy in February.

Unlike other chains, which have been hit by the so-called “retail apocalypse” sweeping the country, Kohl’s said it is not considering any downsizing plans at this time.

Instead, it focuses on implementing new business strategies and attracting customers with its revamped stores and merchandise.
