Outdaughtered’s Danielle Busby on her horrific health struggles since giving birth to quintuplets

Outdaughtered star Danielle Busby has detailed the debilitating impact of her ongoing health crisis — following the birth of America’s first-ever all-female quintuplets.

The 39-year-old’s life changed in more ways than one when she and husband Adam, 41, welcomed their five daughters in 2015.

Since the miraculous feat, the reality star has dealt with horrific health issues — on top of the demands of raising six young children in their Texas home.

In an exclusive conversation with DailyMail.com, Danielle admitted that she still has “a lot of blood work done every six weeks” as doctors struggle to make a diagnosis.

“Autoimmune problems are annoying,” Danielle complained. “You just never know the ups and downs that come with it. It’s hard for me, it’s hard for Adam to deal with it and adapt to it.’

In January 2021, the Christian couple asked fans to pray for Danielle after she was hospitalized with the mysterious illness.

She explained to fans at the time, “I’ve seen multiple doctors to try and figure out what’s wrong with me. I was led to the care of a cardiologist and rheumatologist, both of whom were wonderful.

“A lot of tests have been done for both doctors…some results have come back good, and some…not so much.”

The reality star doctor has since treated her for fibromyalgia, due to her muscle tension and inflammation, as well as migraines. However, Danielle admitted that medical experts have yet to give an exact title to her health struggles.

When the show last aired, viewers were concerned about a mysterious illness that left Danielle hospitalized for autoimmune issues.

The mother-of-six shared an update on her health crisis and admitted doctors were still unable to give an official title to her troubles.

Danielle explained, “My body went into a massive shock after I had them. I had heart problems and only my inflammations developed enormously.

“But I’ve been placed in good hands with doctors and have had a good journey, especially the last six to nine months.”

Danielle reflected on how her issues really came to light when her quints started school, musing that the fact that she no longer had to “go go go” meant that her ailments could really kick in.

However, things are starting to change and the reality star has managed to go several months without so many flare-ups.

She continued, “I’ve had a great working relationship with my neurologist to help me with a lot of the nerve issues, damage issues that I have. The migraine and muscle problems.

“Still work in progress. Still do lots of blood work every six weeks. We’ll get there one day, but I’m doing a lot better.’

Danielle had previously dealt with a series of infertility struggles and initially tried to conceive through IVF.

The couple ultimately chose Femara – a prescription that boosts fertility in patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) – which led to her first pregnancy with their eldest daughter Blayke, 12.

When Danielle tried again to expand their family, she went back to Femara and became pregnant with their quintuplets.

Conceived via intrauterine insemination (IUI), a procedure similar to IVF, the Busby girls were the first all-female quintuplets born in the US, and the first in the world since 1969.

Despite all sharing the same womb, only two of the girls – Parker Kate and Hazel Grace – are identical twins, coming from the same egg that split to form two embryos.

Danielle underwent a C-section at 28 weeks to give the babies the best chance of survival.

Weighing in at seven pounds six ounces, Ava Lane, Olivia Marie, Hazel Grace, Parker Kate, and Riley Paige instantly captivated the world, as many continue to tune in to see their stories unfold in the family’s series.
