Newly released footage shows the moment a Ford Bronco drives onto a golf course and into a group of men, injuring one of them.
The short video shows the vehicle driving at high speed onto the grass, passing a golf cart and narrowly missing another golf cart at the Deerfield Golf Club in Newark, Delaware, around 2:20 p.m. on August 29.
As a result, one of the golfers fell from the cart, suffering minor injuries, and refused to be treated on the spot.
Delaware Natural Resources Police have since identified a suspect in connection with the hit-and-run incident.
The suspect was taken to the Delaware State Police 2nd Unit. Officials said he made statements that “required his transport to a hospital for evaluation.”

The suspect has been charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs, first-degree reckless endangerment creating a substantial risk of death to another, leaving the scene of a collision resulting in injury, malicious damage by motor vehicle, failure to possess proof of insurance, operating a motor vehicle on department roads/areas not designated for such purpose, and operating a motor vehicle on department grounds with willful disregard for the safety of persons/property.
Officials confirmed that the suspect will be summoned once he is released from the hospital.
Since the video circulated on social media, a user on Reddit claimed to be one of the golfers in the group targeted with the driver.
The alleged victim said that the suspect was doing donuts on the driving range when things went wrong.

“So I’m in this video. I’m the guy running away just before the driver hits the golf cart that my buddy was in,” the victim said.
‘We had just finished hole 16 when donuts were being made all over the driving range.
‘I grabbed my phone to take a picture of his license plate and drove into the club.
“The driver saw me filming him and turned around to try to run me over. At this point, all we know is that the driver has been stopped by the police and we have given our statements.
“We don’t know the motive or anything. It went from ‘I’m taking pictures of an idiot’ to ‘oh he’s trying to kill me’ in about 0.5 seconds. AMA.”

Authorities have not yet said whether they suspect the suspect was driving recklessly on the driving range.

The golf course is located in White Clay Creek State Park, so DNREC police were called to the scene.
