Ousted Mom’s for Liberty cofounder and her ex-Florida GOP chair husband SUE to keep rape probe docs secret over their ménage à trois because they’ll cause ‘great humiliation’

Former Florida GOP Chairman Christian Ziegler and his wife, co-founder of Moms for Liberty, have filed a lawsuit in an effort to keep data related to his rape investigation secret.

Ziegler was accused in October of raping a woman who had a threesome with him and his wife Bridget. He lost his top Republican role because of the investigation, which led to no charges.

Amid the fallout from the sex scandal, the couple filed a lawsuit Friday against the district attorney’s office and Sarasota police, claiming that releasing the records would “cause great humiliation and damage their individual reputations.”

They claim police had unrestricted access to Christian’s phone, which contained information from other time periods, including his browser history and call logs.

Because investigators had such broad access, the Zieglers are asking the Sarasota County District Court to order “the permanent destruction” of all text messages found in the phone, reports the Daily beast.

This is evident from the recently filed complaint, first obtained by Tridentone of the search warrants granted “unfettered access to the entire contents of Christian Ziegler’s cell phone.”

“To say that one’s entire life is on one’s cell phone is an understatement,” the complaint read.

Both the police department and the prosecutor’s office have already received public records requests for “the entirety” of the information, which they say has heightened concerns that their reputations could be damaged by the contents.

“The Zieglers are concerned that other individuals and media outlets will most likely make, or have already made, similar public records requests to the SPD or the SAO now that the investigation has concluded,” they said in the reported filing.

Among the damaging information allegedly contained in the phone records is a “video of Christian Ziegler and his accuser engaging in sexual intercourse,” and “the entire” history of Internet surfing.

The images of Ziegler and his accuser were turned over to police by Christian while he was under investigation, as evidence that the intercourse was consensual.

In their complaint, Bridget (pictured) and Christian Ziegler say they fear the media will release the contents of Christian's phone, and that some media outlets have already made requests for public recordings.

The couple says in their filing that releasing the materials would violate their right to privacy under the Florida Constitution.

Their fears over the release of phone contents come after allegations that Christian told his wife to look for a threesome partner, and that he had a list of women’s names in his phone titled ‘THE LIST’.

The alleged list also included his rape accuser, which was filed under the subtitle “F***,” police alleged in a February filing.

When the rape allegations were made last year, his accuser said it came after she canceled plans to have sex with the couple.

When detectives first spoke to Christian, he reportedly conducted Google searches on his phone about their investigation, including “Medium Sexual Battery Settlement,” “Instagram Vanish Summons,” and “Charged with Sexual Battery and Fired.”

Their fears over the release of their text messages also follow an alleged February 2021 conversation in which Bridget expressed concern for her well-being and suggested they find someone else.

In the reported text exchange, Christian told his wife to “come home, stop and pick up (a woman) to play and get crazy again.”

It is believed he was referring to the alleged victim who he claimed was ‘an alcoholic, a nice person with some problems’.

Bridget responded that she was concerned the woman was “going through some s***” and “that she prefers confident, powerful people.”

The documents stated that Ziegler said he liked that the woman was “close and there was no drama to turn him on.”

“I just don’t want to feel like we’re ever taking advantage of anyone (I know it’s always been consensual), but she seems… ‘broken’ or like she’s going through some shit,” Bridget said.

“I don’t know – that’s the vibe I get from her – and my nature is more likely to help her than… you know.”

Ziegler then suggested they “look for someone new,” police said.
