A former Home and Away heartthrob is behind bars after being refused bail for assault.
Orpheus Pledger, 30, has been in police custody since March 27 after being charged over an incident involving an alleged assault causing injury.
He is best known for playing Mason Morgan in 339 episodes of Home and Away from 2016 to 2019 before retiring from acting to pursue a career in music.
Pledger faced the Melbourne Magistrate’s Court via video link on Monday, where his lawyer, Jasper MacCuspie, applied for his case to be adjourned.
He will have spent almost a month behind bars when he applies for a suppression order and bail next Monday, the News reports.

Pledger has been an actor since he was eight years old when he first appeared in the 2001 soap opera The Secret Life of Us.
His first big break came in the mid-2000s teen drama Silversun before landing in 36 episodes of Neighbors as Noah Parkin, a “free-spirited teen who will set some hearts on fire.”
While at the height of his Home and Away fame in 2018, the then 24-year-old asked fans to vote for him on Cleo’s Bachelor of the Year, saying he would be “very happy if I win ‘.
A source close to Pledger, who wished to remain anonymous, told Daily Mail Australia that the actor had struggled since leaving Home and Away.
“Orpheus has been exhibiting this problematic behavior for some time, ever since he returned to Melbourne after his character was killed off,” the source said.

A return to the big screen on SAS Australia in 2022 was short-lived after he sensationally left the show after refusing to carry out mundane tasks.
He was called in to visit the director’s staff after they became concerned about his mental state, while others on the show claimed he was ‘off with the fairies’.
