Oroville shooting: Police swoop on gunman at school in California
The suspected shooter is dead after police responded to an active shooting at a school in Palermo, California.
The Feather River School of Seventh-Day Adventists closed Wednesday afternoon.
Butte County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement: “BCSO is on scene of an active incident involving a shooting at Feather River School of Seventh-Day Adventists in Palermo.
“Parents are asked to respond to the church to be reunited with their children. The suspected shooter has died. We will provide additional information as it becomes available.”
According to his websiteIn 2022, the religious school had only 33 students, supervised by five teachers.
Students will be taken to Oroville Church of the Nazarene, located at 2238 Monte Vista Avenue, Oroville.
The school advertises itself as providing ‘spiritually oriented education for children’.
It has been educating children in the same building since 1965.
