Crash Bandicoot’s original voice actor, Brendan O’Brien, has passed away at the age of 60, according to Legacy.com.
O’Brien’s prolific career as a designer of character voices for animation, radio and video games peaked in 1996 when he created the voice for the genetically enhanced bandicoot that would later become iconic.
No details have been released as to his cause of death, but tributes to O’Brien have begun to pour on social media.
Crash Bandicoot’s official Twitter account wrote: “We share our sincere condolences to the loved ones of Brendan O’Brien on his passing.
“He was an incredible talent who brought Crash Bandicoot and other Crash characters to life. He will live on in the hearts of Crash fans forever.”
