Order a large $200 Pikachu now, thank yourself later
It’s not the biggest Pikachu plush ever made, but it’s big! The Pokémon Company’s new large Pikachu plush toy measuring 26 inches (just over 60 cm) can be pre-ordered on The Pokémon Center website. The $199.99 plushie is expected to ship in September 2024. according to the product page.
“This giant Pikachu is big enough to fight, but soft enough to cuddle,” according to The Pokémon Company. “You can show off your Pokémon pride with one of our largest Poké plushies ever. Embroidered details and soft fabric bring Pikachu to life in a huge way!”
Pikachu is 26 3⁄4 centimeters long and 24 1⁄2 centimeters wide. It’s not as big as the older $249.99 Pikachu plush that was over three feet long. To compare this new Pikachu to another giant Pokémon plushie, it’s slightly smaller than the life-size Psyduck, and drastically smaller than the giant Wailord. It is however greater than the line of dormant Eevee evolutions (which are unfortunately sold out) that clock in at 16 inches each. Pikachu’s Pokédex entry mentions a height of just over 30 cm, so the new cuddly toy is still larger than average. It’s the largest Pokémon plush you can buy at The Pokémon Center at the time of writing. So, if you’re looking for jumbo, this is it.
A cheaper option that is almost as cuddly is the 14-inch Pikachu Squishmallow that costs less than $50. It’s smaller than the 20-inch version I have, but not by much. But if cost isn’t a limit, I’d rather have a big 18-inch Pikachu plush toy – we like a round king.
