Orange Is the New Black actress looks unrecognizable in worrying new photos

Orange Is the New Black star Taryn Manning sparked concern over her disheveled appearance on Monday when she stepped out in Los Angeles.

Looking noticeably different from her previous public outings, the 46-year-old actress looked unrecognizable as she posed at night while sitting on the trunk of a car with a Trump/Vance sticker.

A far cry from the glamor of the red carpet, she looked disoriented and had a visible red scratch on her hand.

Manning – who starred as Tiffany ‘Pennsatucky’ Doggett in the hit Netflix series – wore a white T-shirt with the logo of punk band Suicidal Tendencies.

A white jacket with a zip-up hood, which she paired with white sweatpants, partially covered her unkempt hair.

The 8 Mile star – who sparked concern with a viral, sexually explicit rant last year – drew attention to a red mark on her hand as she put on her sweatpants.

Manning – who grew up in a trailer park with her brother and mother – was last seen in December stepping out in Palm Springs. She wore an eccentric holiday ensemble on her way to a Christmas party.

Dressed in a white jacket with fur trim, baggy gray shorts and knee-high yellow suede boots, Taryn embraced her unusual style with flair.

The former leading lady is set to make a triumphant return to Hollywood after starring in indie drama Out Come The Wolves, where she stars alongside Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito.

Last month, it was reported that filming for the feature was underway in Portland, Oregon.

In the film, which marks the directorial debut of producer Danny Peykoff, Manning plays “a mother who never wanted a child and never fails to hide it,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

She was previously taken to Silver Hill Mental Hospital in nearby Connecticut in 2016 after suffering a breakdown on the Orange Is the New Black set, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Manning left after two days, but later worked with a sober associate for a month. At the time, she stated that she “doesn’t have a problem, nor does she use drugs of any kind.”

“I’ve never even seen methamphetamine. Nothing. Never. I’m not saying I’ve never used drugs. I made it clear [on Instagram] that I used to do a bump [of cocaine] here and there, but no more,” she told the publication, adding, “I call it the devil’s rose — I can’t stand it.”

In 2023, Manning sparked concern after the indeterminate star posted a three-minute video detailing sex acts she performed on an unnamed married lover.

She told how she allegedly committed sexual acts with the man, wanted to buy him a boat and claimed his wife threatened her with a restraining order.

She said: ‘Every night, well, about three nights in a row… I was his b*****g because he liked it, and I didn’t mind doing it! Is that weird? That’s what demons do.”

Manning further described a confrontation she had with the man’s wife.

Manning said she “can’t stand” the man’s wife who branded her a lunatic and told her, “Get out of my life or I’ll be investigated.” [restraining order] on you.’

In a second shocking video, the star claimed the married man performed a sex act on her during the drive to Newport Beach.

Manning was previously arrested in New York City in November 2014 on charges of criminal contempt for allegedly violating a restraining order and making criminal threats against her former roommate. However, the charges were later dropped.

Manning started acting in the late 1990s. She is best known for her breakout role as the tough, rebellious Tina in Britney Spears’ 2002 film Crossroads.

She later gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Pennsatucky in the hit Netflix series Orange is the New Black, receiving critical acclaim for her complex performance. The show ran from 2013 to 2019.

Her other notable appearances include the popular series Sons of Anarchy (2008–2010), the film Hustle & Flow (2005), and the 2002 Eminem film 8 Mile.

Manning also pursued a music career, releasing two albums with her band Boomkat and collaborating with artists such as Kanye West.

Despite public controversy, including the backlash over her 2021 film Karen, Manning has continued to work in the entertainment industry.

She was previously engaged to Anne Cline, but the couple ended their engagement in 2021.

Taryn and Anne had tried to work through their differences, but ultimately came to the conclusion that they were not right for each other.

The two had only been together for about three months when they got engaged, as they were first linked in March 2021.

In 2020, Taryn supported her Crossroads costar Spears during the #FreeBritney movement.

The actress shared a still from Crossroads of herself, Britney and their co-stars Zoe Saldana and Anson Mount, writing: “What a great time with this crew!”

She continued, “Britney, I know you are strong and have your own brain and thought process. To me you look happy and like you’re having a good time! Keep up the happy messages and your faith in Jesus Christ. How about instead of #freebritney we say #GodIsWatchingOverBritney.”
