The Optus hacker has reportedly released more than 10,000 customer records and could release even more unless the company gives in to a $1 million ransom demand.
The hacker says that unless the ransom demand is met, 10,000 records will be released every day for four days.
It is estimated that 9.8 million current and former customers have been compromised by the breach.
Cybersecurity journalist Jeremy Kirk shared a screenshot of the hacker’s ransom message on Twitter.
The message stated that if they receive $1 million USD, the data will be deleted and not resold.
Meanwhile, the hacker said they will release 10,000 records every day for the next four days.
