Opta supercomputer names new favourite for the Premier League title as Liverpool’s chances drop below their two rivals after draw with Man United

Manchester City are the new favorites to win the Premier League title, despite Arsenal and Liverpool having just one point with seven games left to play.
Liverpool were forced to surrender their lead in the title race after failing to capitalize on their chances in a chaotic 2-2 draw against Manchester United on Sunday.
This allowed Arsenal to maintain their lead on goal difference, having jumped to the top of the standings with an impressive 3-0 win against Brighton a day earlier.
However, Opta’s supercomputer is still not backing Mikel Arteta’s side to win what would be Arsenal’s first Premier League title in 20 years.
Manchester City are instead considered favorites after their 4-2 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Arsenal have the second best chance according to Opta’s supercomputer, despite being top of the league
Pep Guardiola’s side saw their title chances drop from 45.9 percent to 33.5 percent after their goalless draw against Arsenal a week earlier.
However, the weekend’s results have seen them rise again to 40.6 per cent, ahead of Arsenal on 30.3 and Opta’s previous favorites Liverpool, who are now on just 29.1.
Manchester City’s advantage may come from the caliber of opponents they have left compared to their two rivals.
The remaining teams they play have an average current position of 11.4 in the Premier League, compared to Liverpool at 9.86 and Arsenal at 8.6.
City’s toughest test remaining is their trip to Tottenham, for which a date has yet to be arranged.
Liverpool face back-to-back clashes against Tottenham and Aston Villa, as well as a tricky-looking week as they travel to Fulham, Everton and West Ham in six days.
Arsenal next take on the Champions League in pursuit of Villa, while tough away games to Tottenham and Manchester United are on the agenda.
Where the Reds could have an advantage is in the fact that Arsenal and Manchester City have a tricky-looking route to the Champions League final.

Liverpool, meanwhile, will face Serie A side Atalanta in the quarter-finals of the Europa League, and could play either Roma or Benfica in the semi-finals.
Arsenal currently top the table thanks to their goal difference of +51, compared to Liverpool who are nine behind.
Manchester City are one point behind the pair and are in a prime position to capitalize if either of their two rivals make a mistake.
