Oprah Winfrey objected when asked how she felt about President Joe Biden announcing his candidacy for re-election in 2024 when she left Las Vegas on Tuesday afternoon.
Winfrey, who supported Biden in 2020 and traditionally supports the Democrats despite her one-time friendship with former President Donald Trump, was asked what she thought of the announcement.
‘Come on!’ Winfrey told the DailyMail.com cameras, seemingly annoyed. “That’s not happening,” she added, seemingly referring to answering the question.
Winfrey was in Vegas to present a remake of The Color Purple, her breakout role, at Cinema Con.
She co-starred with Whoopi Goldberg in the 1985 film, earning an Oscar nomination in the process. Winfrey is a producer on the new movie, adapting the 2005 Tony-winning musical.

Prior to the 2022 midterm elections, Oprah spoke out for liberal candidates.
Cheri Beasley of North Carolina, Val Demings of Florida, Mandela Barnes of Wisconsin, Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada, Beto O’Rourke of Texas, and Raphael Warnock and Stacey Abrams of Georgia were among those who received her support, all Democrats.
Perhaps most notably, she supported John Fetterman in his victorious campaign against her former protege Dr. Mehmet Oz for Senate in Pennsylvania.
“Had I lived in Pennsylvania, I would have already voted for John Fetterman for many reasons,” she said ahead of the vote.
Winfrey supported Biden in 2020 and even participated in efforts to get the Democrat out in his successful campaign against then-President Donald Trump.
She famously stayed out of the heated 2008 primaries between then-Senators Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton before endorsing Obama over Senator John McCain for president.
Winfrey supported Obama’s reelection in 2012 and Clinton’s losing campaign to Trump in 2016.
Oprah was famously friends with Trump dating back to her days on television and is even part of a recent book the president has published.

The book, titled Letters to Trump, is due out Tuesday and is close to bringing readers back $100.
In an interview on Sunday, Trump described many others included in the book, including Oprah Winfrey, who he says requested — and received — a funeral for a business associate at Mar-a-Lago.
He says Winfrey, like many celebrities, turned against the president when he entered politics.
“I had a great relationship with Oprah, I had a great relationship with almost everyone,” he told Mark Levin. “But once I got into politics — and I don’t mean I said anything offensive, I mean literally once I got into politics — it changed.”
One of the letters Winfrey wrote after Trump sent her an excerpt from his book “The America We Deserve,” which was published in 2000 before he became president. In the book, the former president had written that his “first choice would be Vice President Oprah Winfrey.”
In the handwritten letter, Winfrey writes, “Donald, I have received the extract from the book. I have to tell you, your comments made me cry a little. It’s one thing to try to live a life of integrity – another for people like you to notice. Thank you, Oprah.’
At the bottom of the letter first published by Axios, the iconic talk show host adds, “Too bad we’re not running. What a team!’
Winfrey further addressed that letter CBS news with boyfriend Gayle King in March.

The book includes a handwritten note from Oprah to Trump in January 2000 thanking him for acknowledging her integrity in a book he wrote at the time and suggesting that they run for public office together.
‘I might have thought so then. I might have thought that 23 years ago,” she said. “I’m not thinking about it today.”
The book, published Tuesday, also includes letters from Hillary Clinton, Michael Jackson, former Senator Ted Kennedy and the late American golfer Arnold Palmer.
Publisher Winning Team Publishing released Trump’s photo book ‘Our Journey Together’ last year. That book brought in more than $20 million in sales in its first two months alone.
Sergio Gor, the founder of Winning Team Publishing, told DailyMail.com, “What do presidents, royals, celebrities and business giants have in common? They all love Donald Trump.
Long before he entered politics, Donald Trump led an extraordinary life. No book highlights his iconic relationships quite like Letters to Trump, and we’re thrilled to be able to share it with our readers.”
