Today, technology is at the center of so many aspects of our lives, and advances in technology have major consequences. With every company vying for our attention with upgrades and updates, it can be difficult in the midst of all the commotion to track down the actual innovations and discover the technology improvements to come.

OPPO recently announced its participation in the Mobile World Congress 2023 (MWC 2023). The company has themed its efforts as “Inspire to Believe” and will be showcasing promising new technology in Barcelona as a follow-up to the unveiling of the technology at OPPO INNO DAY 2022 (opens in new tab).

Diversity is proving crucial, with OPPO believing that mobile phone-only companies just can’t keep up. Thus, OPPO is casting a wider net of devices and technologies that aim to unlock new possibilities for smart living and better serve users worldwide, and is bringing these new technological breakthroughs to the market. Here’s a peak of what OPPO has in store.

New device form factors could be the next big thing

As phones got smarter, so did they get bigger. The growth of the foldable smartphone market in recent years is driving innovation that could in some sense reverse that course, promising to combine modern smarts with a more compact, foldable design.

A recent Counterpoint Research report (opens in new tab) suggests foldable phone shipments will increase by more than 52% by 2023, reaching 22.7 million units. This could be a turning point for foldable smartphones, opening up the opportunity to capture a large slice of the high-end flagship market.

Earlier this month, OPPO unveiled the new one Find N2 Flip (opens in new tab), the company’s first-ever foldable phone designed for the global market. Visitors to the MWC 2023 will have the chance to experience the phone first hand.

The OPPO Find N2 Flip features an advanced Flexion Hinge, which allows it to offer a multi-angle FlexForm mode, allowing the screen to be adjusted to any angle between 45-110 degrees without any noticeable crease.

To top it all off, the device has the largest and only vertically oriented cover screen of all flip phones on the market. With a vertical aspect ratio of 17:9, OPPO Find N2 Flip’s 3.26-inch cover screen is easy and intuitive to use.

OPPO’s successful entry into the foldable market with the Find N in 2021 gave the Chinese smartphone giant confidence in the foldable smartphone category. The company hopes to release the OPPO Find N2 Flip to make foldable phones a more practical everyday smart device for users in 2023.

Upgrades in connectivity for improved productivity

According to a McKinsey report (opens in new tab)advanced connectivity in low power wireless and 5G/6G mobile has been one of the biggest technology trends of the past year.

In 2022, OPPO released the White paper communication without power (opens in new tab), who envisioned a powerless, battery-free future. Zero-power Communication technology enables certain devices to communicate without relying on batteries or their own power source. While the technology was described in the white paper, OPPO is ready to realize the concept.

OPPO plans to showcase a real-world Zero-power Communication device at MWC 2023 – imagine a device to keep track of your keys, wallet, phone or whatever that never runs out of battery when you use it need the most. That’s the promise of OPPO’s Zero-power Communication technology.

The company will also bring more home connectivity upgrades and detail its latest achievements in 5G/6G connectivity. In recent years, OPPO has been working hard on 5G CPE portfolios, enabling users to get high-speed hub connectivity for home and office. OPPO is upgrading the technology at MWC 2023 to provide faster, more stable connectivity with Wi-Fi 6 support.

“Inspire to Believe” for more possibilities in smart living

OPPO expands its MariSilicon family with the new MariSilicon Y, the company’s first flagship Bluetooth audio SoC, unveiled at OPPO INNO DAY 2022. Along with the MariSilicon Y, OPPO will also show off the new generation of assisted reality smart glasses, OPPO Air Glass 2, which debuted on OPPO INNO DAY 2022. Visitors can experience them first hand.

OPPO is rounding out its showcase with other innovations in fast charging, health and accessories to highlight the breadth of its expertise and reinforce its belief in the potential of smart technology to improve people’s daily lives.
