Oppo Reno 10 5G: cameras, display, battery and everything you need to know
Oppo’s Reno 10 smartphone series, which includes the Oppo Reno 10 5G, Oppo Reno 10 Pro and Oppo Reno 10 Pro Plus, has officially launched in several regions around the world, but only the first of those devices is available in the UK.
Positioned as a mid-range photography powerhouse, the Oppo Reno 10 5G will be the successor to the Oppo Reno 9, which itself was the successor to the Oppo Reno 8. However, the latter phone was the last Reno device to be sold in Western markets, so we’ll be comparing the Oppo Reno 10 5G to that phone for most of this guide.

Oppo Reno 10 5G: price and availability
The Oppo Reno 10 5G was launched in the UK on August 24, 2023 and can be purchased directly from EE or Oppo’s website.
The single 8GB RAM / 256GB storage variant of the phone costs £399, although it’s worth noting that both RAM and storage capacity are expandable. By comparison, the Oppo Reno 8 retailed for £419 / AU$999 at launch, so the Oppo Reno 10 5G undercuts its predecessor in terms of price.
In all likelihood, the Oppo Reno 10 5G will also be coming to Europe and Australia, but Oppo has yet to share a release date or pricing information for either region. As with other Oppo products in 2023, US consumers seem to miss the Oppo Reno 10 5G.

Oppo Reno 10 5G: design and rendering
In terms of design and display, the Oppo Reno 10 5G measures 162.4 x 74.2 x 8mm and weighs 185g, meaning it’s slightly bigger and heavier than the Oppo Reno 8.
However, that larger frame allows the Oppo Reno 10 5G to pack a larger 6.7-inch AMOLED display than its predecessor, with the newer phone also boasting an impressive 93% screen-to-body ratio.
The refresh rate of the phone is 120 Hz and the screen offers HDR10 + support and 950 nits peak brightness. The screen itself is also slightly curved, with Oppo describing the Reno 10 5G as having a “3D double curved design”.
There’s a fingerprint scanner under the screen, and the phone – which is available in the UK in one colour: silver gray (yes, that’s the official name) – is wrapped in a fingerprint-resistant coating.

Oppo markets the Reno 10 5G as “The Portrait Expert”, which speaks to what the company considers to be the phone’s greatest strength.
The Reno 10 5G features a triple-lens rear camera consisting of a 64 MP wide-angle lens (f/1/7), a 32 MP telephoto lens (f/2.0), and an 8 MP ultra-wide lens (f/2.2). The second of that range is what earns the phone the “Portrait Expert” title, with the telephoto lens offering a 47mm focal length and being the first of its kind in the Oppo Reno range.
The Reno 10 5G also offers a Pro-Portrait mode, which supposedly preserves the skin tone of subjects and puts “Pro aesthetics” at your disposal. In terms of selfie snapping, the Reno 10 5G has a 32 MP camera.
Oppo has told us that the Reno 10 5G is equipped with “by far the strongest set of cameras for where this phone is available on the market”, so we’re excited to put this setup to the test.
Oppo Reno 10 5G: performance and battery
The Oppo Reno 10 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset, a processor we’re not very familiar with. That said, the Dimensity 7050 is objectively a superior chipset to the Dimensity 1300 chipset used in the Oppo Reno 8, and given that phone already delivers solid performance for its mid-range price, we expect the Dimensity 7050 to be even smoother can scroll and game experience.
Under the hood, the Oppo Reno 10 5G packs a hefty 5,000mAh battery, which should reliably get you through a full day of moderate to heavy use.
The phone comes with Oppo’s 67W fast charger in the box – which isn’t something to be taken for granted these days (looking at you, Apple and Samsung) – and the company claims you can fully charge the Reno 10 5G in just minutes. 47 minutes with this charger.
There are unfortunately no wireless charging options, but that’s to be expected for a phone in this price range.
As for updates, Oppo says the Reno 10 5G will be backed with two years of Android updates and four years of security updates.
