A reality TV star and college dropout who made a fortune selling wearable blankets has been branded “out of touch” after showing off his new $4.3 million home with a virtual tour.
Shark Tank judge Davie Fogarty, who is worth an estimated $250 million mostly from his brand Oodie, showed off his breathtaking Adelaide Hills oasis in a video posted to social media.
The first thing Mr. Fogarty, 28, mentioned in the clip as he introduced his enviable new retreat-style property was the price tag.
The ‘tone-deaf’ video comes as Australia reels from a cost-of-living crisis driven by skyrocketing inflation, rising interest rates and skyrocketing tenant costs.
“I just bought this new $4.3 million ranch. It’s actually in the Adelaide Hills.’

A beaming Mr. Fogarty, who offers business advice in his ambitious videos, was so determined to keep the farm he not even his previous property first.
“I was actually looking for a house, then I saw this, but as soon as I got here, I thought: I’m going to buy this 100 percent.”
Last month, Mr. Fogarty posted the four-bedroom Glenelg beachfront home that he bought in 2020 for $2.7 million.
As he wandered through the main house of his new premises, he highlighted the reading/meditation room and country-style kitchen, even mentioning his ‘beautiful Aga oven’.
‘This is the kitchen. I think it’s French modern style, but I’m not 100 percent sure.’
Aga ovens are a modern classic, but are estimated to use 30 times the energy of a regular gas oven, leading many owners to pull them out as electricity prices rise.
Mr. Fogarty even introduced his two pygmy goats, Toasty and Fleece, and he even hugs a large white rabbit.
Mr Fogarty achieved tremendous success with his Oodie brand, which he launched in 2018

The property also has a ceramic workshop, an outdoor pool, a chapel-like building and a swimming pool.
“I feel like this is the last thing I wanted and really needed in my life,” Mr Fogarty said.
“I’m just going to enjoy it and find some peace here too.”

“Ahh, there goes the last semi-relatable CEO,” one wrote.
Another joked, “Yeah dude, I’m always reading by the fireplace and meditating in my $4.3 million house.” We should hang out sometime.”
Others mocked the entrepreneur for being “out of touch” during Australia’s cost of living crisis.
“I can’t afford an Oodie,” one wrote.
Another joked, “I just brought $2 mini hot dogs from Aldi.”
A third added, “Legit just threw in some coins to buy a $1 coffee at 7 Eleven.”
The Shark Tank judge placed his property in Glenelg South (pictured above) last month.
Originally drawn to its beachside location, Oodie’s inventor decided on a change of scenery inland to the Adelaide Hills. Pictured is the kitchen in Mr Fogarty’s house in Glenelg
It is estimated that Mr Fogarty has made more than $500 million in sales since launching his brand five years ago at just 23 years old.
But not everyone was so strict.
“The house is nice, but those baby goats are something else,” one woman wrote.
“The serenity, absolutely beautiful,” said another.
He started an iPhone case business, tried personal training, and tried a spice business and a Vietnamese deli.
He then found success selling weighted blankets before coming up with the Oodie design and brand.
