Glamorous OnlyFans teen Paris Ow-Yang blames domestic violence ‘explosion’ on mental health problems sparked by her rich parents separating

Teenage OnlyFans star Paris Ow-Yang suffers from a litany of mental health issues stemming from her parents’ divorce when she was a child.

A court heard on Wednesday that the 19-year-old man had been diagnosed with conditions including depression, anxiety, ADHD and an eating disorder.

She has repeatedly engaged in self-harm and binge drinking due to grief, shock and trauma.

But Ow-Yang failed to convince a magistrate that these problems meant she should have a series of charges dealt with under the law’s mental health provisions.

The social media influencer pleaded guilty to assault, stalking and damaging property following an incident in early November at a family home in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

The daughter of high-profile Sydney neurosurgeon Michael Ow-Yang and his wife Amanda had attended a jewelery event that day, where they had a few cocktails and four glasses of champagne.

She was found wandering the streets of Double Bay after blacking out and according to lawyer Michael Bowe, she then went to her mother’s house and started “yelling at everyone.”

Mr Bowe said Ow-Yang had no memory of the incident, but knives were pulled from a kitchen and an ambulance was called.

The lawyer said what happened was a “one-off explosion” witnessed by her mother.

Ow-Yang’s parents were not present at Waverley Local Court on Wednesday, but that did not mean they did not care, Bowe said.

“It just means there is a problem between the two,” he told the court.

Ow-Yang appeared demurely dressed in gray pants, a white blouse, a black jacket and J’Adior heels, next to Mr. Bowe.

Mr Bowe said his client suffered from a “whole range” of mental health conditions that started when her parents separated when she was about 13.

She never recovered from that break-up and her problems were exacerbated by a relationship with 44-year-old nightclub king Julian Tobias.

That relationship, which ended last year, had no “stabilizing influence” on Ow-Yang, Bowe told the court.

Ow-Yang now had a boyfriend closer to her own age, who served in the U.S. Army and was a positive influence on her.

“I spoke to him on the phone and he seems like a nice guy,” Bowe told the court.

The court heard on Wednesday that the 19-year-old man had been diagnosed with conditions including depression, anxiety, ADHD and an eating disorder.

Ow-Yang blamed a drunken car crash last year for blowing more than four times the legal limit for a P-plater at the end of her relationship with Tobias.

The private school graduate threw her $50,000 black Mercedes into another Mercedes worth $150,000 parked in Point Piper in Sydney’s east in October 2023.

After that crime, Mr Bowe said the crash was the result of a “perfect storm” after Ow-Yang “spun out of control” when she couldn’t cope with the breakdown of her romance.

She was “drowning herself in alcohol”, Bowe told Downing Center Local Court.

On that occasion, Magistrate Rodney Brender convicted Ow-Yang, fined her $1,000 and imposed a two-year community corrections order.

On Wednesday, Mr Bowe Ow-Yang said he has done so more than 1.6 million followers Instagram And TikTok did its best to get her life in order.

He described his client as “very successful in one area of her life, very unsuccessful in another.”

“She can’t hide behind alcohol to solve her problems,” Bowe said.

‘She admits it won’t be easy. Nothing will be easy for her.

‘She still misses her parents not being together. She has brought that up with me before.’

Mr Bowe said Ow-Yang’s presence on social media meant she was regularly subjected to “quite debilitating” online abuse.

Magistrate Paul Mulroney rejected Ow-Yang’s request to have the case treated as anything other than a series of domestic violence offences.

Mr Mulroney said that while Ow-Yang was sympathetic to citizens suffering from mental health problems, she had not always paid sufficient attention to her own problems.

“It appears that Ms. Ow-Yang has at times been much less responsible in this situation when it comes to attending to her mental health,” he said.

“In my opinion, there should be greater assurance that Ms. Ow-Yang will pursue mental health treatment.”

Mr Mulroney also noted that Ms Ow-Yang may face a “backlash” on social media as a result of the publicity surrounding the allegations.

Mr Bowe applied for a non-publication order over the contents of an extensive psychological report.

He said Ow-Yang’s mother feared her daughter would commit suicide if the report was made public.

“There is a genuine fear that Ms. Ow-Yang will do something that none of us would like to see happen,” Bowe said.

“Does the community need to know the ins and outs of Ms. Ow-Yang’s life?”

Mr Mulroney granted a non-publication order against the report, but not because of Mr Bowe’s comments about Ow-Yang’s mental health.

Ow-Yang wiped tears from her eyes after the order was placed.

Mr Bowe urged Mr Mulroney not to condemn: ‘She’s only 19. She has the world ahead of her.

Mr Mulroney agreed to Mr Bowe’s request and instead imposed a 15-month conditional discharge.

Under the terms of that order, Ow-Yang must comply with a mental health treatment plan and abstain from alcohol.

In sentencing, Mr Mulroney said ‘domestic violence is a poison in our community’ and warned Ow-Yang that if she committed another similar offense she would likely end up in prison.

“It is very important that you follow the orders I gave today,” he told Ow-Yang.

‘For you it is not a sprint race, for you it is a long distance race.

‘I wish you the best of luck. I can’t say I’ll be using TikTok to learn more about you anytime soon, but I wish you the best of luck in your chosen career.”
