Although you may immediately know what an object is when you look at it, there are many things going on behind the scenes that we don’t realize.
The brain goes to work by breaking down an object into its individual properties, comparing them to already known properties, and then putting these properties back together.
Depending on the extent to which the perceived object matches a known category, it is recognized as a piece of furniture, a vase, or, in the case of the new brain teaser, a strawberry.
“However, it is unclear to what extent we consider things to be similar or less similar,” the Max Planck Institute said.
The new brain teaser, created by online gambling service Vegas Slots Online, is inspired by this year’s Wimbledon tennis match, where strawberries are considered a delicacy.

At first glance, the strawberries look exactly the same: they are bright red and covered in small spots, the so-called fruits.
