One person was taken to hospital after passengers had to jump from three boats at a San Francisco marina to escape burning ships.

Firefighters responded to Oyster Cove Marina in South San Francisco after three boats caught fire around 7:20 a.m. Wednesday. Crews worked with multiple agencies to extinguish the flames, Deputy Chief Matt Samson said The San Francisco Standard.

Authorities said one person was taken to hospital with minor injuries and several passengers were rescued after jumping from the burning ships.

Samson said four people were rescued from the water.

Samson said authorities are investigating the cause of the fire and whether anyone was living on the boats.

Fire officials said there were no ongoing threats to public safety and are working on possible environmental impacts KQED News.

The fire brigade posted photos of the boat fires on X, formerly Twitter, showing clouds of smoke and the burning boats.

It’s unclear how all three boats caught fire, but Samson said there were no immediate signs of foul play KRON.
