One of two inmates who escaped from an Arkansas prison this week was captured Thursday, authorities said.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said Noah Roush, who escaped from the Dub Brassell Adult Detention Center, was found in an abandoned home in Pine Bluff, about 40 miles southeast of Little Rock.
Roush and Jatonia Bryant were found missing from the jail on Monday. The sheriff’s office has not said how the two escaped, but believes the two may have escaped before.
Roush, 22, was held on suspicion of residential burglary and theft of property. Bryant, 23, was being held on probable cause on a murder charge in connection with a 2023 shooting, according to authorities.
A captain from the sheriff’s office spotted Roush after emergency responders received a 911 call stating that someone matching Roush’s description was in the area. Authorities say the captain and Southeast Arkansas College Department of Public Safety officers captured Roush as he tried to run away. Roush was returned to the adult detention center.
A $2,500 reward remains for information leading to Bryant’s arrest.
