Netflix users in Britain may be terrified now that one of the scariest films in years is available to stream.

In the 2019 film The Lodge, Riley Keough plays an expectant stepmother who is stranded in a terrifying vacation village with her fiancé's two children.

The Lodge received positive reviews from critics for its performances and screenplay and has been called one of the scariest movies of recent years.'

RogerEbert.com reviewer Monica Castillo wrote, “The film's horrors come not from outside forces or supernatural forces, but from the cruelty that even children can bear.”

Keough's co-stars include Jaeden Martell, Alicia Silverstone and Keough's father, Danny.

The film grossed $3.2 million worldwide and currently has a 75% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Netflix users were excited about the film's premiere on Netflix, with one calling it a film that is “smart, darkly funny, very well acted and with strong visuals.”

The film is currently not available to stream on Netflix in the US.

Streamers can watch The Lodge on Max and stream it on Hulu and Amazon Prime if they have the Max add-on.

There are no plans for a sequel or movie spin-off.
