One of the most feared enforcers in Origin history says he wants to smash Reece Walsh because of the Queensland star’s painted nails and ‘beautiful blue eyes’
- Carroll says he would have liked to get his hands on Walsh
- Walsh will be the target for the Blues in game one of Origin
Rugby league legend and feared Origin hardman Mark ‘Spudd’ Carroll has revealed he would target Queensland handsome boy Reece Walsh for his ‘wavy hair and painted fingernails’.
Walsh, 21, has become one of the most exciting footballers in the NRL and has excelled for Queensland and the Broncos.
His talent, charisma and ability to attract a new demographic to the sport have made him perhaps the biggest draw in the league.
The full-back will be the Blues’ target in front of 80,000 rabid NSW fans at Accor Stadium on Wednesday night – and one of Origin’s most feared enforcers ever admits he would have liked to get his hands on him because of his performance.

“As an old dinosaur, when I see someone as beautiful as Walsh, with his wavy hair and painted fingernails, I’d love to get my hands on him,” Carroll said. News Corp.
“His beautiful blue eyes would roll.”
Blues great Benny Elias also believes the superstar should be buried when he has the ball.
“It’s been a long time since we’ve hated a Queenslander, so why not this guy who’s a shelter?” Elias said.
“There’s no better target than a guy named Reece Walsh.
‘We will physically destroy this guy from the first minute. Walsh is undoubtedly a superstar, and he is loved by all those north of the border.
“But the bombs will be high and if your eyes and hands are waiting for the ball, you are exposed. He will know about it.
“Walsh will be absolutely terrorized and it will be more physical than a few punches. He’s a good looking boy and he’s good for our game, but we have to hate someone.’
Walsh, who is known to wear pink headgear and paint his nails, has been criticized in the past by some fans for being “cocky” and “arrogant.”

However, many other fans are supporting Walsh and have shown photos of him painting his nails while bonding with his daughter Leila.
“She’s been great to me. She calms me down,” Walsh said of his daughter.
‘Not everything is about football and a job. When I’m in the [Broncos] facility I am the footy player.
“When I step outside and see my little one and my family, I’m daddy.
“It’s pretty amazing. I’m still so young, but I think if it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be in this position. She’s pretty awesome. It makes me emotional.’
The superstar’s career was at a crossroads in 2021 when he was suspended for cocaine possession while playing for the New Zealand Warriors.
He returned to the Broncos last season to be closer to his daughter, who he believes makes him a better man and player.
Walsh even got some tattoos on his arm and leg that were inspired by Leila.
“They represent my young daughter,” he said.
‘I got her name on my arm, I have a clock for the time she was born and the tattoo on my leg is of a lion and a lion cub.
“That means I’m taking care of my daughter, so that’s what it means.
“I love being a father.”
