Louisiana is ranked as the state with the angriest drivers based on data including: road rage involving a firearm, fatal accidents involving aggressive or careless driving, percentage of accidents involving aggressive or careless driving, and speeding.
The city has a 47.32 road rage score and the highest number of reckless driving and speeding tickets in the US.
New Mexico follows the southeastern state with a score of 44.66 for road rage and has the highest percentage of confrontations involving a firearm.
About half of all car accidents are caused by aggressive or careless driving.
Surprisingly, Montana has the third angriest drivers in the country, scoring 42.44 for road rage.
The state’s public roads, which are free of traffic jams, may encourage speeding and have a higher rate of fatalities due to reckless driving, despite the number of tickets being half the national average.

Not everyone in traffic adheres to the rules in the same safe or polite manner. That is why the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has drawn up tips to prevent aggression in traffic.
It tells drivers to pull over and let the other driver pass to avoid a confrontation, to give speeding drivers space to avoid a collision, to pay close attention to their surroundings to avoid an unsafe driver, and to call 911 if someone is harassing them.
If you experience aggression in traffic, you are advised to pull over and take deep breaths until you have calmed down.
