NFL punter misses out on big $999,720 payday of just THREE DOLLARS after part of crazy 5-stage honors parlay fails: with his money on Saints’ Chris Olave for Offensive Rookie of the Year the NFL and not the winner Garrett Wilson

A sports bettor came agonizingly close to a nearly million-dollar payout after putting together a near-perfect NFL parlay.

Alan Zavala shared his completed bet slip with social media on Thursday after NFL honors.

On September 8, the day this NFL season began, Zavala bet $3.74 on a then-speculative five-legged parlay.

A savvy NFL punter, Alan Zavala, came so close to a huge payout just shy of $1 million.

It included Patrick Mahomes to win MVP, Justin Jefferson to be named Offensive Player of the Year, Nick Bosa; Defensive Player of the Year, Willow Gardner to win Defensive Rookie of the Year and, sadly, Chris Olave to win Offensive Rookie of the Year.

All but Olave came to be recognized in the form of awards, with Saints teammate Ohio State and New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson winning the OROY award.

The wrong pick of Ohio State’s pass catchers meant he missed out on $999,702.00.

Though Zavala assured empathetic commenters that he was “fine” after the extraordinary bet closed, revealing that FanDuel had no cash-out mechanism for his parlay.

‘For those who care to read this about the 1 million loss bet. 1. I’m fine, thanks for your concern.

‘2. In September I did not understand the round robin

‘3.Fanduel never gave me a withdrawal option (I would have done it in 5 figures).’

Olave himself posted a palm of his hand emoji when Bleacher Report shared Zavala’s bet slip on Instagram, with his New Orleans teammate adding “conspiracy.”

The Saints’ rookie star had a terrific debut season and, despite missing out on the award, placed fourth behind Wilson, Seattle’s Kenneth Walker III and San Francisco’s Brock Purdy.

Olave finished the 2022 season with 72 receptions for 1,042 yards and a team-leading four touchdowns.
