Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo has completed his move to Barcelona, the club confirmed with two hours left on deadline day.
Bayern Munich, where Cancelo spent the second half of last season on loan, had made a late attempt at a move, but the Catalans eventually signed the Portugal international on a season-long deal.
Barcelona stated on their official website that the deal does not include a permanent transfer option.
Cancelo returned to City for pre-season but appears to have no future at the club under Pep Guardiola.
Barcelona also announced they had loaned his Portuguese teammate Joao Felix just hours before Cancelo’s departure from Etihad was confirmed.

Cancelo, who can operate as a left-back or right-back, has made 154 appearances for City.
He previously played for Benfica, Valencia and Juventus.
Barcelona also signed Ilkay Gundogan, Inigo Martinez and Oriol Romeu this summer.
