Police raid the headquarters of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Organizing Committee during an investigation into alleged corruption
- The organizers of Paris 2024 confirmed on Tuesday morning that a house search has taken place
- The raid comes just over a year before the Games begin in the French capital
The Paris 2024 Olympic Games headquarters was raided by police on Tuesday as part of a corruption investigation.
The offices of Solideo, a company responsible for the construction of Olympic venues and venues in Paris, were also searched.
The raids were carried out by anti-corruption and financial crime detectives, as well as the financial brigade of the Paris police.
According to French sources, preliminary investigations have been launched into alleged embezzlement of public funds and alleged conflicts of interest and favoritism in awarded contracts.
Paris 2024 said they were “fully cooperating with the researchers to facilitate their investigation.”

The news embarrasses the International Olympic Committee ahead of an important meeting of their board of directors this week.
The French anti-corruption agency AFA pointed out the risks of financial ‘honesty’ two years ago. Inspectors said the procurement procedure was “imprecise and incomplete” and that “potential situations of conflict of interest exist that are not properly monitored.”
