Olympic legend Ian Thorpe relists his luxury Sydney home on the market for $3.5million after failing to find a buyer
Ian Thorpe has put his luxury Sydney home in the upscale suburb of Woollahra on the market for a whopping $3.5 million.
The Olympic gold medalist, 41, bought the beautiful four-bedroom, three-bathroom mansion in December 2017 for $2.75 million.
He previously put it on the market last September for $3.7 million, but failed to find a buyer for that price.
The beautiful two-storey property sits on 250 m² and features spacious rooms, an outdoor swimming pool and a breathtaking tropical garden.
Thorpe has carried out extensive renovation work on the property and it also features open plan living areas, a beautifully renovated terrace and stylish sliding doors.
Perfect for families and entertaining, it is in a highly sought after location, close to a variety of shopping amenities.
Speaking to The Sydney Morning Herald in 2023, rental agent Courtney Wong said the house is the “best” in the area, set back from the street.
“It’s completely private and secluded,” he added.

The incredible property is modern and airy with an open plan living space and large sliding doors leading to the courtyard.
A description of the property reads: ‘For those looking for a private escape with all the comforts of a luxury home, this is everything you could have dreamed of and more.’
‘A real gem, tucked away at the quiet back of a boutique block of just six. This residence represents the perfect blend of modernity and the natural world with its contemporary architectural design in a tranquil, green environment.’

Known as one of Australia’s greatest Olympic swimmers, Thorpe was a five-time gold medalist.
He rose to fame at the age of 17 at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, when he won five medals, including three gold.
