Olympics Breakfast Briefing with SIR STEVE REDGRAVE: Dina Asher-Smith, Max Whitlock, and Tom Pidcock all have medal hopes as Team GB look to build on magnificent Friday
Great Britain produced their best performance of the Olympics on Friday, with somersaults, jumps and rowing moves to win three gold medals.
Bryony Page delivered a stunning performance on the trampoline as the equestrian team galloped to the top of the podium.
But that wasn’t all, as lightweight double sculls duo Emily Craig and Imogen Grant finally got their ultimate prize after missing out on a medal by 0.01 seconds three years ago.
At this morning’s Olympic Breakfast briefing, Sir Steve Redgrave calls for a jam-packed eighth day in Paris.
Our first chance for a medal comes at 9am in the Dressage Team Grand Prix Special, where Great Britain will hope to build on yesterday’s success in show jumping.

Great Britain has three contenders in the women’s 100 metres. The semi-final starts at 18:50 and the final at 20:20.
Dina Asher-Smith, Imani Lansiquot and Daryll Neita are all competing, and between them they have won five relay medals over the years, but never gold.
Meanwhile, Max Whitlock bids farewell to the Olympics in the men’s pommel horse final at 4:16 p.m. He won gold in Rio and Tokyo and is already the most decorated Olympian in his field, but can he defend his title with a glorious swan song?
Redgrave is also looking forward to the final rowing action, with both the women’s and men’s teams in the round of 16 this morning. Can they build on our successes on the water so far?
Meanwhile, Tom Pidcock is aiming for another gold medal after his cross-country heroics, this time in the men’s road race at 10am, alongside Josh Tarling, Stephen Williams and Fred Wright.
Elsewhere, Jake Jarman and Luke Whitehouse compete in the men’s floor exercise final at 2.30pm, Emma Wilson goes for gold in the women’s windsurfing final after yesterday’s postponement and Team GB are in the final of the mixed 4 x 400m relay.
Also look out for the finals in the pool tonight: Abbie Wood in the women’s 200m medley final and the mixed 4x100m medley relay final.
There are numerous other sports today where there are no medals to be won, including the quarter-finals in men’s boxing, women’s hockey and men’s archery.
Mail Sport and the National Lottery have joined forces to bring you exclusive video content from our top Olympian Sir Steve Redgrave every day during the Olympic Games in Paris.
Sir Steve won five gold medals in an illustrious career and is regarded by many as our greatest Olympic hero. In 1996, Team GB won just one gold medal at the Atlanta Olympics – and Steve, along with Matthew Pinsent, delivered it for the nation.
This was in an era before the introduction of National Lottery funding, which transformed the fortunes of our British athletes. Thanks to National Lottery players, Team GB are now a superpower on the world stage, winning 22 gold medals and 64 medals at the last Olympic Games in Tokyo.
