Olympic medalist Harry Garside admits he is at a ‘crossroads’ in his boxing career and may ‘walk away all together’ from the sport

Harry Garside is a champion boxer, but he is considering a career change.

The Olympic medalist admitted he is unsure about his future on Monday’s episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Australia.

“Frankly, I hope this experience gives me answers to all my questions. It feels like I’m at a crossroads,” said the 25-year-old while appearing on the show.

“The options are: Professional boxing and making money, getting my family ready for life. Amateur boxing, don’t make money, but honor my heart, my country, my pride. Or run away from boxing together,” he continued.

“You know what it’s like to be the greatest, it takes every part of your soul. I know that if I walked away, that energy could go to something else.”

Harry added that he “hated turning pro” and said too many people around him saw the athlete as “a potential cash cow”.

“It’s so gross and I really didn’t like it. I hate to know that there are people around me who don’t really care about my well being, they cared about the 10 percent. It was really frustrating,” he said.

“For me, the sport was a place where I learned so much about myself, what I am made of, self-determination, perseverance.

‘I do it because I like it. I hated going pro, just people around me wanting me because I was a potential cash cow. They didn’t want my interests.’
