Olympic gymnast Nile Wilson takes a tumble during Dancing On Ice rehearsals in Yorkshire

Nile Wilson fell while rehearsing for Dancing On Ice with professional skating partner Olivia Smart in Yorkshire on Thursday.

The Olympic gymnast, who has signed up for the upcoming 15th series of the hit ITV show, struggled to stay on his feet as he tried out his new skills.

Nile was seen sliding forward as he quickly held out his hands to prevent his face from hitting the ice.

Nile brushed himself off and looked nervous as he held his arms out for balance as he solo skated with Olivia around to lend a hand if needed.

The sportsman wore black Gymshark track pants with a matching T-shirt and warm gloves.

After the fall, Nile and Olivia continued their grueling training session as their coach watched and dished out directions.

The pair were seen performing synchronized movements while balancing on one leg as they floated across the rink.

Nile revealed the news that he joined the popular ITV show on his YouTube channel last month.

He told his fans: ‘I’m going on ITV’s Dancing on Ice! This is really cool.

“I certainly haven’t skated much, but I’m so excited for the opportunity. I’m so excited to get into that routine and feel like an athlete again.”

Of what he hopes to bring to the ice, Nile said, “My biggest goal on the show is to do something no one’s ever done!”

Eleven celebrities take on the ultimate challenge as they take to the ice and skate live each week to impress both the panel and viewers at home.

Nile joins an amazing lineup of stars including football legend John Fashanu, actress and DJ Patsy Palmer, Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, The Wanted singer Siva Kaneswaran, former Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton and comedian Darren Harriott .

Also appearing are Coronation Street actress Mollie Gallagher, reality star Joey Essex, Hollyoaks star Carley Stenson and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star The Vivienne.
