While Harry Garside was disappointed in the boxing ring in Paris, Australian star Teremoana started his Olympic campaign with a brutal victory.
The 26-year-old, who competes in the super heavyweight class, secured a knockout victory in his fight against Ukrainian Dmytro Lovchynskyi on Monday afternoon local time.
The poor Ukrainian survived a knockdown and a standing count of eight before Teremoana took him down with a stiff one-two, forcing the referee to stop the contest.
After being officially confirmed as the winner of the match, the Australian celebrated in a brazen manner in the middle of the ring.
“I didn’t plan on going for the knockout, the plan was to go out there and box, but I threw some good punches and he felt it and went down every time he got hit,” Teremoana said.
