‘I actually can’t believe it. I can’t believe I’m here. And I can’t believe I’ll do it,’ he said after his win.

Finalists Liz Parnov, George Mladenov, Matt Sharp and Gerry Geltch went head-to-head at a heated Tribal Council during the explosive episode.

It was then whittled down to just three, with Liz, Matt and Gerry pleading their cases to their co-stars.

Liz spoke: ‘I wanted to get into this game and be bold and take risks and just YOLO. And I did that.

And look where I am. I have played a much more exciting game sitting next to me,’ continued the athlete.

“Honestly, playing Survivor is ten times harder than going to the Olympics,” he admitted.

‘I didn’t have time to build shelters, light fires. I was at Tribal Council every other night using that strategy I had learned to succeed in this game and go deep for another day. I’m the last villain standing.

I am the last rookie player left. I took out the biggest villain in the game, and I balanced being a hero perfectly, wearing a purple and shiny Villains cape and that’s why I’m in the top position to be the Sole Survivor.’

Host Jonathan LaPaglia told the group of finalists: ‘Congratulations to all three of you. It is no small thing to get to where you are. You should all be very proud.

Liz is a decorated athlete who has competed for Australia in the pole vault at the Olympic Games, World Championships and Commonwealth Games.
