He recently confirmed his solo career and announced that he is no longer part of his band Years & Years.

He took to the stage at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Luton for his first performance since the Eurovision Song Contest.

Olly addressed the crowd and explained: ‘Listen, listen, I don’t have to tell you how good it feels to be back in the UK and doing a show.

“You know what? This is my very first show as Olly Alexander. I was in Years and Years, and now I’m just being myself.”

The star swept the zero points under the carpet when he took to the stage in Luton on Sunday for the third day of the BBC festival, which is headlined by Coldplay.

Olly appeared in a black vest and white cargo pants for his racy performance, also wearing bright red sunglasses.

The hitmaker was joined on stage by two backing vocalists and dancers, while a video of himself performing played on the big screen behind him.
