Ollie Locke and her husband Gareth are expecting twins via surrogate after heartbreaking miscarriages and three years of trying to start a family
Ollie Locke and her husband Gareth are expecting twins via surrogate after three years of trying.
Former Made In Chelsea star Ollie, 35, took to Instagram on Sunday to share a video featuring his baby’s scan and moments with Gareth and his surrogate.
The reality star captioned her post: ‘We are beyond thrilled to finally be able to share the news that we are expecting twin baby Locke-Locke into the world this summer!
You all have been so wonderful during the last 3 years of us trying to have a family and we promise to share every step of this adventure with all of you.
‘To all those on their own journey to becoming parents, we’re with you and sending you all the baby powder!
Happy news! Ollie Locke, 35, and her husband Gareth are expecting twins via surrogate after three years of trying.
‘Thank you to our amazing surrogate @bex7ward for being the most amazing human being, the love we have for you and your family is just another level! xx.’
It comes after Ollie and Gareth spoke in December after their mother suffered a miscarriage.
The couple shared the heartbreaking news, with Ollie admitting that it had left him feeling ’emasculated’ for not having been able to conceive until now.
Speaking on the E4 MIC show’s Bali special, Ollie said: “We just can’t believe it’s happened again.”
Gareth added: ‘This is our third time. Every time it’s like… “Oh well, next time it’s sure to happen.”
“It seems like every time you’re going to have to redo it, it seems like it’s a little, a step further.
‘Obviously we are in a very lucky position, we can go again. But you know it’s not, it’s not easy.
Ollie admitted that he felt “embarrassed that he and Gareth didn’t have a baby together yet.”
Speaking to his co-stars Emily Blackwell and Miles Nazaire on the show, Ollie said: ‘Can I tell you guys something really wild too? And this is something strange and personal, and I know that this is not how I should feel.
And I know, but I’m very ashamed. I haven’t even called my dad yet. Because he embarrasses me…
I will tell you that the reason is that, strangely, I feel emaciated. And I know that’s really silly, but this is me speaking frankly to you, and I know I shouldn’t feel that way, but I’m embarrassed that it didn’t work out for us.
‘And it’s so stupid, but I’m waiting long enough, for someone to tell dad, so I don’t have to.
“But shame is such a weird emotion, when really it’s like, that should be the last of your thoughts.”
In December 2021, Ollie and Gareth recounted how their surrogate had tragically miscarried at six weeks.
In July 2021, the couple, who married in November 2020, recounted how their first IVF attempt had been unsuccessful.
Ollie said at the time: “I think our expectations were very high and we really thought it was going to work, but nature is nature and we can’t do anything about it.”
‘We have to think that it wasn’t meant to be and we’re going to go ahead in a month or so and do it again. We are optimistic.
‘Sometimes it just doesn’t work. But that won’t stop us from trying again and again.
