Olivia Rodrigo indulged in an Aussie rite of passage as she kicked off the Australian leg of her Guts tour this week with sold-out shows in Melbourne.

The American pop star, 21, gushed about her love for the land Down Under on stage during her second show on Thursday.

Before performing her hit So American at Rod Laver Arena in front of around 15,000 fans, Olivia revealed she has embraced classic Australian traditions.

“You guys are so amazing, and you live in the coolest city ever,” she said.

‘I really love this city so much. I’ve been exploring, I’ve met some of you, I had an amazing Australian breakfast, so good.’

‘I tried a Tim Tam today for the first time in my life – 10 out of 10, it gets my approval.’

The iconic Aussie cookie is enjoying a resurgence in fame among visiting international artists who have embraced the Tim Tam Slam tradition.

They tried the trend where you bite into the cookie on both sides and use it as a straw, and it has received more rave reviews than Vegemite.

In a TikTok posted Thursday, Olivia filmed herself slipping into an original Tim Tam for the first time.

As she sat cross-legged in her hotel suite, she was also surrounded by six packets of different flavors as she fully embraced the tradition.

“Spectacular, give me fourteen,” reads the audio accompanying the clip.

The video arrived just hours before she delivered an impressive setlist packed with fan favorite songs including Driver’s License, Good 4 You and Happier from her debut album Sour.

She also performed her current hits from her critically acclaimed second album Guts, including Love is Embarrassing and Get Him Back.

In a TikTok posted on Thursday, Olivia Rodrigo filmed herself tucking into an original Tim Tam while surrounded by six packs of different flavors in her hotel room.

During her second show in Melbourne, Olivia caused a frenzy when she belted out one of her rarely performed hits.

In addition to her usual setlist, Olivia sang her ballad All I Want, which is performed by her character Nina in the hit show High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

It is believed to be the first time Olivia has performed the song on her Guts tour.

Images of the striking moment were shared TikTok from concertgoer Katerina Walczak and drove Olivia’s fans worldwide wild.

Many shared their jealousy over not seeing the singer perform All I Want at other live shows.

One wrote: ‘I’m so jealous, I love All I Want so much.’

Another said: ‘No one understands how crazy this is.’

Elsewhere, a lucky Australian fan sparked mass envy earlier this week when they shared a personal interaction with the pop star, who saw them in Melbourne on Tuesday.

A third shared: ‘No, you guys are next level lucky today,’ while a fourth gushed: ‘I’ve actually never been so jealous before.’

Another added: ‘Y’all don’t forget the whole original setlist because of All I Want!! the power of All I Want is insane!!”

The superstar will perform again at Rod Laver Arena on Sunday and Monday, before taking the party to Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on October 17, 18, 21 and 22.

A lucky Aussie fan sparked mass envy earlier this week when they shared a personal interaction with the pop star, who saw them roaming the streets of North Melbourne on Tuesday.

She opted for a low-key look for the relaxed outing, skipping her onstage glam and going incognito in jeans and a sweater, sneakers and a New York Yankees cap.

The superstar will perform again at Rod Laver Arena on Sunday and Monday, before taking the party to Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on October 17, 18, 21 and 22.

Olivia was taking in Melbourne’s famous alleyways and arcades ahead of her four sold-out shows at Rod Laver Arena when a superfan recognized her.

Bianca Miolo, 22, approached the globally known hitmaker on Peel St in Collingwood and filmed her interaction with the Jealousy, Jealousy singer.

The aspiring artist asked if she had any advice on how to make it big in the music business, and Olivia gave her a sweet message.

“Just make things every day, just keep going until you get good quality,” Olivia said in the video, which fan Bianca uploaded to TikTok.

Olivia also stopped to pose for a few quick photos with the fan, as she made a peace sign with another girl’s arm around her shoulder.

Olivia, who became an overnight sensation when she got her driver’s license in 2021, is currently traveling the world on her first arena tour taking in the sights.
