Olivia Munn and John Mulaney in ‘total bliss’ after welcoming baby girl via surrogate

Earlier this month, they welcomed their second child, a daughter, via surrogate.

And Olivia Munn and her husband John Mulaney are “absolutely happy” with their newly expanded family.

The couple, who also have son Malcolm, have been a family of four since September 14, after their daughter Méi June Mulaney was born.

An insider gave insight into the new parents of two, telling People that John, 42, and Olivia, 44, are ‘absolutely happy with Méi and Malcolm.’

“After everything they’ve been through, there’s no closer, more united family,” the insider added.

The couple announced the birth of Méi June Mulaney on their Instagram accounts on Sunday with photos of the newborn.

“May June Mulaney was born on September 14, 2024, the year of the dragon,” Olivia, 44, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, captioned the post.

“I had so many deep emotions about not being able to carry my daughter. When I first met our surrogate, we spoke mother to mother. She showed me so much grace and understanding, I knew I had found a true angel. Words cannot express my gratitude for keeping our baby safe for 9 months and making our dreams come true.

“I am so proud of my little plum, my little dragon, for making the journey to be with us. My heart has exploded. Méi (pronounced mei) means plum in Chinese.”

Mulaney announced her arrival with a post of his own, sharing identical photos and an adorable video of him burping the newborn as she rests against his shoulder.

“May June Mulaney was born on September 14, 2024, the year of the dragon,” he captioned the post.

‘We stole so much stuff from the hospital. I love my little girl so much.

The adorable photos they shared also included a snap of Malcolm dressed in a rocket suit as his mother pampered him, and his father holding Méi as he enjoyed the view of the waterfront.

Olivia and John started dating in 2021 and got married last summer in an intimate ceremony.

The former Newsroom star revealed in March of this year that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2023. Since then, she has undergone multiple surgeries, including a double mastectomy and hysterectomy, which has put her into a medically induced menopause.

She previously revealed that she had frozen her eggs and had eggs retrieved in the hopes of expanding her family with John.

The couple are now parents of two – in addition to baby Méi, they also have a two-year-old son Malcolm

In an exclusive interview with Good Morning America’s Michael Strahan, the X-Men: Apocalypse actress confirmed that she decided to have a round of egg retrieval because she and John “weren’t done expanding our family.”

“John and I talked about it. I had a round of egg retrievals right after the double mastectomy. It’s scary because I have hormone-dependent cancer, so I knew there was a risk,” Olivia explained to Michael, whose daughter Isabella was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in October 2023.

“Our doctor said, ‘Look, we’re going to get one for you and then we’ll call you.’ And then the doctor called and he said, ‘Hey, we got the results back, they’re two healthy embryos.’ We both started crying.”

“I really hope we can have another baby. We just want one more. I’m not going to ask for too much more in this life, I promise. I just want one more baby,” Olivia said.

Referring to the treatment, the mother of one continued: ‘The hormone suppression therapy is brutal. It gave me an unprecedented level of debilitating exhaustion, I was in bed all day, all day long. My quality of life was so minimal. I couldn’t be there for my baby.’

When Michael asked if Malcolm had “noticed a change” in his mother, Olivia replied, “Yeah. I mean, whenever Malcolm came home, he would run to my bed because he knew I was there.

“That was something he associated with me, that was just too hard for me to take. I had to figure out if there was another option, so I went with the hysterectomy with the oophorectomy. Almost immediately after that, my energy just came back,” she added.
