Olivia Dunne’s older sister Julz sinks beers before the LSU gymnast’s incredible debut against Ohio State: ‘What better time than now’

Olivia Dunne’s older sister Julz knocked back the beers as her sibling got off to a great start to her senior year as an LSU gymnast Friday night.

Dunne, 21, had to wait until LSU’s final rotation of their meet with Ohio State to make her senior debut for the Tigers, but posted a 9.875 on floor exercise in her first official routine of 2024.

The score out of 10 was a strong performance for the TikTok sensation and just .25 lower than her career high in the discipline (9.900) – which she set against Alabama in February 2022.

And as she stepped out to a flyer at the PMAC in Baton Rouge, Dunne’s 22-year-old sister was enjoying a beer marathon in the stands.

Julz, the so-called “brains” behind her sister’s huge social media following, shared videos of herself on TikTok trying to drink as much beer as possible before the meeting ended.

“Okay, since my psychotic mother (Katherine Dunne) likes to get to the meeting an hour and a half early, I’m going to vlog how many beers I can drink before the meeting is over,” she said in one of the videos.

“So I drank beer number two before the girls finished warming up.

“Before I could get a third one, the girls ran out of the tunnels and did the introductions yadda, yadda, yadda. I really didn’t care because all I wanted to do was go to the concessions.”

Julz, who has 462,000 TikTok followers of his own, graduated from LSU last spring with a degree in kinesiology.

She was extremely proud of her sister that night and admitted that she lost her voice while cheering her on during the floor exercise.

“I grabbed beer number three (and) saw my sister getting ready – and I thought what better time than now to then grab beer number four, so I did that, drank that,” Julz added.

“Then I lost my ever-loving stuff when I saw my sister compete. If you know me, I sound like a 45-year-old divorced man sitting in a bar on Sunday watching his favorite NFL team and yelling at the TV.

“After all that screaming, I was feeling pretty dehydrated, so I threw back beer number five and celebrated that Tiger dub with a mojito.”

She also added the caption, “@Olivianauw and when I close my eyes I feel like I’m doing a somersault too.”

“The real MVP,” her sister replied in the comments.

Olivia was the second competitor of six to compete for LSU during the team’s final rotation of the evening. Dunne’s 9.875 was one of five scores that counted toward LSU’s event total.

She was one of the faces of the name, image and likeness era of college athletics with several brand deals.

Her Instagram and TikTok accounts have a combined 12.5 million followers.
