Olivia Dunne’s boyfriend Paul Skenes suffers first MLB loss after only giving up TWO runs in 8.1 innings as his Pirates fell to the Cardinals, 2-1

It took until his twelfth top-flight start before Paul Skenes lost, but he is no longer blameless.

Olivia Dunne’s baseball buddy suffered his first MLB loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday night despite another stellar start.

Skenes pitched 8.1 innings, allowing four hits and two earned runs in a 2-1 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals.

The pitcher gave up just two hits and one run in eight innings. Skenes gave up two hits to the last three batters he faced, including the go-ahead run.

The Pirates gave Skenes little support throughout the game, scoring their only run in the eighth inning.

Skenes and Dunne have been a couple for about a year after meeting as athletes at LSU

Skene’s record drops to 6-1 and he becomes the first pitcher in MLB history to start the All-Star Game before suffering his first professional loss.

Skenes and Dunne have been dating for about a year, since the couple met as student-athletes at LSU.

The two tried to keep their romance a secret for a long time, but confirmed their relationship last summer via social media.

Skenes signed a $9.2 million bonus when he joined the Pirates, and Dunne is the highest-earning female student-athlete due to NIL deals.

Dunne and Skenes walked the red carpet together at the All-Star Game earlier this month, both soaking up the sunshine.

Dunne will return to the LSU gymnastics team next year for a fifth season, a designation he earned because he was on the Tigers’ roster at the height of the coronavirus pandemic.
