Perth beauty clinic Olive + July suddenly closes its doors

A cult favorite beauty salon has been forced to close shop after its landlord decided to sell the property.

The Olive + July team announced the closure of its Subiaco salon in central Perth on Tuesday.

“After almost seven years, our lease at our beloved Subiaco clinic is expiring,” they wrote online.

‘Although we want and have begged to stay, unfortunately we cannot continue the lease in this property.’

With Olive + July founder Chloe Sherrell turning her attention to motherhood, it was decided that the company would not move.

“With our lease coming to an end, it gave us an opportunity to assess where we are as a small family business,” she said.

“We realized that at this stage of our lives, we are not prepared to go through another salon design.

“As we have a young child and will hopefully be expanding our family in the near future, we felt this was not the right time.”

Instead, Ms Sherrell will become a solo practitioner under the Olive + July brand of the already established B Cosmetics, in the north of the city.

“Cosmetics is a modern, family-run boutique clinic founded by Dr Sarah and Dr Ben Wade, located in Perth’s iconic seaside suburb of City Beach,” Ms Sherrell said.

From her room in B Cosmetics she will offer cosmetic tattoos, eyebrow styling, eyelash lifts and skin treatments.

The emotional announcement received several supportive responses from loyal customers.

‘One of the best chapters of my life was working here! So sad to see it go, but so proud of you,” one person said.

“One door closes and another opens!” wrote another.

Olive + July’s last day at the Subiaco clinic is June 21 and Ms Sherrell will begin operating from B Cosmetics from July 1.
