Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has turned down the chance to replace Kasper Hjulmand as manager of the Danish national team, a report has revealed.
The 51-year-old has been without a coaching job since being sacked by Manchester United in 2021, ending an eventful three-year spell.
And according to Danish outlet TipsbladetThe Norwegian has rejected further talks with the FA, ending the prospect of him succeeding Hjulmand, who resigned following Denmark’s exit from Euro 2024.
The outlet claims that Solskjaer did not want to enter into negotiations because he is in talks with a ‘big club’ over a head coaching job.
Earlier this year, Solskjaer was linked with the job of Sweden manager and was said to have held talks with the country after they failed to qualify for the summer tournament.

In recent weeks, Solskjaer’s name has sensationally re-emerged as a candidate to take over from under-fire Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag, following comments in which he stated he was open to a return to Old Trafford.
“If your family asks you, you say yes every day of the week,” he said at the Oslo Business Forum in Lillestrom, via VG. ‘It feels wrong to talk about jobs that other people have. But I say yes.’
The former striker was initially backed by fans as a club legend and United finished third and second in the Premier League in his two full seasons in charge.
However, questions were asked about matters off the pitch, and Solskjaer continued to criticize Cristiano Ronaldo after both left the club.
“With the ball, with him in the team, it wasn’t a problem,” he said on Stick to Football, brought to you by Sky Bet, in March. ‘Without him [pressing]we had to change a bit the different roles we were used to.
‘Previously we were one of the teams with the highest urgency [Ronaldo joined]. We let Dan James go when Cristiano came in, and they are two different types of players.”
He continued about the club: ‘Nobody said ‘no’ to being captain of the club, it was only for certain matches.
‘[On whether they said, “I don’t want to be captain for this match.”] Yes, but they didn’t want to say it themselves, they let other people come to me and say it. It was disappointing.
Erik ten Hag has come under pressure after Manchester United’s worst start to a Premier League season

“It’s a different generation, it’s Gen Z. It’s petty and shows a lack of ambition.”
Ten Hag, who replaced Ralf Rangnick in the summer of 2022 and was backed by new minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe in the summer, has struggled for most of his time at the club.
He was ultimately Solskjaer’s replacement, with Rangnick as caretaker, but managed third and eighth places (their worst ever) in the Premier League.
The Dutchman has secured two trophies – the Carabao Cup in 2022/23 and the FA Cup last year – but it has been another difficult start to the campaign this season, with United 11th in the standings.
