Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is in talks with a Premier League club ahead of a possible return to management, according to a report.
The former Manchester United boss has not managed a club since leaving the Red Devils in November 2021, having previously coached the likes of Cardiff City and Molde.
He has since been linked with a number of roles, including being heavily touted to take over as Republic of Ireland boss earlier this year, but the former striker has been selective about his next move.
Reports also suggested he would be announced as manager as Besiktas earlier this month, having also held talks with the Turkish side in January. Former Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst was appointed instead, meaning the former striker’s wait continued.
But that could soon come to an end with reports suggesting he is in negotiations with a Premier League club. According to The sunhe could soon take charge of Leicester.

The 2016 Premier League winners face an uncertain future after the Italian’s departure a year after his appointment, while they also face off-field trouble after being accused of an alleged breach of the Premier’s profit and sustainability rules League.
However, Solskjaer could be the man to negotiate their return to England’s top flight after settling at United when he took over from Jose Mourinho in 2018.
The 51-year-old is said to be keen on the idea of taking charge at the King Power Stadium as Leicester draw up a shortlist to take over from Maresca.
He led United to consecutive top-four finishes before being relieved of his duties following the defeat to Watford.
In the 2020/21 season, United finished second in the league under his leadership and reached the Europa League final, where they fell short on penalties against Villarreal.
In September, the six-time Premier League winner announced he has taken on a new role as UEFA technical observer, which will see him attend and report on Champions League matches this season.
He would partner Jamie Vardy, 37, if appointed boss, with the experienced striker signing a one-year contract extension with Leicester on Friday.

In March, Solskjaer opened up about his issues with his United squad, saying: ‘No one said ‘no’ to captaining the club, it was only for certain games. It is petty and shows a lack of ambition.
Speaking to Stick to Football, brought to you by SkyBet, about his time with Cristiano Ronaldo, he added: ”It didn’t work for me, it didn’t work for Cristiano, but it was the right decision at the time.
‘With the ball, with him in the team, it was no problem. Without him [pressing]we had to change a bit the different roles we were used to. We were previously one of the teams with the highest urgency [Ronaldo joined].
‘We let Dan James go when Cristiano came in and they are two different types of players. It was the right decision for me, but it turned out not to be the right one.’
